PC wins a sloppy game 5-3
PC broke out 3-0 in 1st 10 minutes
Watrous got her first college goal after Halcisak brought the puck down low and Zimmerman got a shot. Zimmerman converted a Roth pass for the 2nd goal and then Roth got a slapper through.
At that point Linstad called time. From that point on Providence never had everything going and the game got sloppy.
UConn responded with a pp goal about a minute later when MacLeod got a goal from a scramble which actually looked like a PC player pushed into the net.
The 2nd saw a parade of UConn penalties after PC got the 1st period penalties
PC pushed the lead to 5-1 with a pp goal from Watrous who scored stick side and a second goal by Roth when she found herself in front of the net allowing her to tip a pass.
PC was extremely careless in the early going of the 3rd. Armitage got a goal when she went glove side on Thomas. This goal came less than a minute into the period. About 2 minutes later on their PP (as the 3rd period penalties were mostly on PC) Stephanie Snow's blast from the point was tipped I didn't get who tipped it.
Armitage was named 3rd star, Roth 2nd and Watrous 1st.
Zimmerman was injuried in the 2nd when she fell into the side of the net and had someone land on top of her. She went to the dressing room, came back to the bench before the period ended and even skated out for the 3rd but it looked like she was favoring one ankle and she disappeared from the bench before the period was over.
On the last Conn goal after Snow got off the shot she seemed to roll her ankle very badly as she most of lost her footing on the shot. She had to be carried off and went to the dressing room.
