Yes it's too soon.
Yes I left good players off the list.
No I haven't seen all these guys play.
Yes I realize there are more criteria for the Hobey that just hockey skill.
Please nominate players not on the list.

i think this is ben eaves' award to lose. he'll get most of the eastern votes, and because of the "eaves" name, he'll get his fair share of the western votes, too, assuming he stays near the top of the national scoring race. "bucks" bochenski and thomas vanek will get their fair share of votes, too.

if thomas pock continues to play as poorly as he did this weekend (and it was pretty bad), he won't get crap.
p.s. elias godoy, if he keeps it up, is also a legit candidate imo

As of noon on 1/06, the only three guys with votes are Bochenski, Eaves, and Pock. In my unsolicited opinion, barring injury, you're looking at the final three. Although, I wouldn't be surprised if Danis suplants Pock, because then you'd have three of the "big four" conferences covered.
BTW, the above is more of a unsubstantiated prognostication than a prediction. It's certainly nothing I'd put money on (without really good odds ;)).

Right now Edwardson is the frontrunner IMHO, his numbers aren't as gaudy as Bochenski but he doesn't play on nearly as good of a team.
I'm not sure what Pock has other than the fact that he's a defenseman who puts up a lot of points.
If I were in charge and the "Hat Trick" were supposed to be announced tomorrow I would have Conner, Edwardson and Danis on the list.

If you're going to have a token CHA player, you might want to make it the one that has been leading the nation in scoring most of this year... and, oh, by the way, still is, instead of the one that is 6th. Otherwise, both are deserving of a good look. Jared Ross, son of Coach Ross of UAH is knocking the net down while playing with a bunch of rookies this year as it is a rebuilding year for UAH (11 freshmen this year). He's for real no matter what league he would play in.

Eaves' injury really opens the door for a favorite to rise in the east.
most likely it would be pock or danis. godoy or saviano will probably pick up a lot more of the 'i wanted to vote for eaves' guys.
however, my vote: Matti K. (no relation to johnny k)

I'd like to go ahead and nominate Keith Ballard.
He is a bit chippy but I don't think there is another player in College Hockey who is more valuable.

isnt saviano tied for most goals in the nation and he isn't on the list.. people need to read up before they make stupid polls..im not gonna vote for steve saviano but it just makes no sense to not have him in here

Edwardson.....wow this kid deserves it if he doesnt get it....leading the Nation in scoring at the break...third in the nation as i type this.....Great leadership on his team in leading them to the top spot of the CCHA for the last 8 weeks......Playing on a line with two freshman and still producing while helping his line mates produce as well is remarkable....kid is playing remarkable this year...

Read the very first post.
Bochenski was on a little bit of a slump recently (see below), hopefully his numbers pick back up, but to still be number 2 in the nation after just 1 goal in 7 games (plus 5 assists) says something about his production for the previous months of the season. He has been accused of being "lazy" recently, but this Sioux fan calls it creative positioning..:D That said, he has always been a strong two-way player and certainly cannot be compared to Vanek:p

Didn't vote because Hobey Lessard wasn't up there

If Dave McKee improves on his freshman season: 1.84 / .920, he may get some looks.
Whoops, just noticed that this was a poll from *last* year. I guess I'm *really* premature. :D

Is it too late to write in Junior Lessard?
