I just heard that Kim Meagher out of John Bapst in Bangor has committed to BC. Good pick up for the eagles! She is a great puck carrier and very solid on defense as well as having a nice physical side. She has played varsity high school hockey all four years at Bapst and was a captain of this past year's team.
Oh yah...she's my sister...way to go kim :)
Now i have another person who will root for the Maine men when they play bc...:):)

When is the next signing period ending? I can't wait to see the final announcements. There are still some solid hockey players out there who have not announced their intentions.

The "late Period" goes from April 14 to August 4th.
Yes, should be interesting.

1. Players who hope to play Ivy can find themselves without a school if admissions doesn't cooperate. Hopefully the word is out that no student athlete should put all their eggs in one basket.
2. Sometimes being cautious means a student doesn't really make the decision of where they want to go and remains available for the late signing period.
3. In Canada top players may hestitate about NCAA because of perceived issues with Hockey Canada and the national program. These players may have played a year of NWHL or consider it.
4. Look at the NWHL rosters, most Canadians with a birthdate of 1986 or earlier might be considered notable by some standards.

Are there any sites out there that list recruits?
I know most of these are d1 recruits, but I wasn't sure if I would be wasting my time surfing for d3 recruits or not.
I know there are tons of sites for finding info on the juniors for the men's teams.

For example, I was thinking of.....Cherie Hendrickson, Bridget King,
Sarah Vaillencourt, Ashley Milley, some of the kids I've seen play at nationals, although some could have repeated a year and therefore are still juniors. Also, goalie Shipe, etc. There are a few good ones out there that have not been talked about that I've seen

Ashley Milley is going to UNH signed to play Lacross.

Was already posted else where that it is a done deal, don't know of any confirmation though.

Wisconsin is very lucky. How did UNH let this happen?

Not sure, but I believe that she would have had to talk to them first, they couldn't start the talks, so it may have just been a personal decision, i.e. wanting to be closer to home.

Cassie Reid from the Pacific Steelers has committed to Colgate.
Reid was the leading goal scorer in the South Coast Senior AAA league in British Columbia, scoring more goals in the regular season than former Patty Kaz winner Brooke Whitney, and Cammi Granato, who also play in the league.
She should be a great addition for the Red Raiders.
The Steelers will be representing BC at the Esso Nationals starting this Wednesday.

Being a goal scorer at a level other than college doesnt hold a lot of weight unfortunately. A prime example would be someone like Jackson from Mercyhurst. She scored a ton of goals for her team last year and barely ever makes the game roster this year. I do look foward to having her play in the future. She has a quick, hard shot. She could turn out to be a great player.
Good luck to Cassie at Colgate. I hope Colgate picks up their program to a higher level. It will be good for women's hockey.

I absolutely agree with MicZamboni. What a player does at the high school or club level can't be used to judge what a player will do in College. I had the opportunity to watch Cassie play when she played at Shattuck the last couple of years. A good player I think she was 4th on the team in scoring last year (Unknown why she left before her Senior year). I was honestly surprised to see talents take her to a D-1 school (All be it Colgate).
I noticed on the website that the steelers were winless at the thoroughbread tournament earlier this year. The huge amount of goals might be attributed to the lack of competition in that league that she now plays in. I surely would not in any way shape or form compare her to a Whitmey or Granato.
What is great however is that new and expanding programs give players on the bubble an opportunity to play College Hockey.
Good Luck to Cassie.

Does this sound promising? A high school junior on her club team playing exibition games against U of M 10-0 loss -1, Min state 6-1 loss 1G +-0, St. Cloud 4-2 loss 1G 1A +2. High school team 31G 9A . Club team 21G 19A. Good size 1170SAT .Thanks.
It is hard to read too much into stats. For instance, when you play U of M, if you are on your club team's top line and get matched against the Gophers top line, your +/- is going to take a worse beating than a lower line matched against Minnesota's #3. I'd rather watch the kid skate to judge promise.
