I hear Chouinard and Fraser scored the last two. That would give Chouinard a hat trick.

Good job ladies. No let up tomorrow.

GO LAKERS!!!!!

Chouinard gets the hat trick (her second) and our gollies post a shutout! I have to say I was worried about this one. Wayne State shuts out Colgate 5-0, beats Princeton 4-2, beats a really tough Clarkson team 2-1 and looses to a (then) #4 St. Lawrence team by one goal (5-4)? I have to say that I expected the Lakers to have a let-down after the schedule-from-hell was over and I was convinced I was right at the end of the first period against Cornell (second game). But when our "depth" players put together 6 unanswered goals and Laura played like a brick wall in goal I figured this team had more mojo than I gave it credit for. With this Wayne State result (and, hopefully, a business-like effort Saturday) I've started logging onto Hotels.com looking for that great Lake Placid deal! If this team sends me to Lake Placid I swear I'll take the toboggan run ten times AND endure the bobsled run's final-turn G-force AND wear my Laker team shirt doing both! GO LAKES!

Lakers having a difficult start today. Down 3-1 after 1. Hosier was pulled and Drennen in goal. First goal was a fluke from neutral zone. Last two WS goals were really nice. Colizza got a nice powerplay goal at the end of the first.

Go Lakers.

Lakers roared back. 4-4 after two periods. Goal by WS was very high blocker corner according to Brian Schultz. Going to be a great third.

Just tuned in with 1:03 to go in game. Who scored the goals today Quixote? 7-5 is still a victory even though its a little too close for comfort, however Wayne St. is a conference game so I expected a stiff test at least once this weekend.

In the third there was a scrum in front and a shot from Agosta but they haven't anounced who scored that goal (the seventh) It was on a power play. Or else what I just described was the sixth goal and Agosta got the seventh. I may have the order wrong.
I think Pendleton from a Bonello point shot had the first goal and I'm not sure on the second MC goal but it was right after the first (2 quick goals at start of third). WS got one back on apparently a very nice pass in front from behind the net. The color person Nicole Correrio paid complements to both goalies saying only the first goal of the game (the fluke from center ice) was a "bad" goal. Both teams hustled and WS took advantage of a few opportunities.
That's what I think I heard.

Mercyhurst goals in order:

Colizza backhand in front just after the expiration of a Laker PP.
Agosta wrist shot between the circles with lots of traffic in front on PP.
Chouinard backhand up high short side off a loose puck by the side of the net.
Pendleton deflection of Bonello point shot head on with the goal.
Agosta wrist shot from far circle on PP off cross-ice feed from Payne.
Jones rebound of a Pendleton slapshot off the rush.
Chouinard rebound of Agosta wrist shot up high on PP..

The setup was tough for us to get good running detail on things we missed the first time. Couldn't make out what the PA system was saying and the sports info folks were a fair distance away.

Thanks Brian. Hopefully you can to Erie and broadcast a game sometime. Who knows, maybe a playoff game here this year:D

Ok, have I been calling Laura Hosier the wrong name these last 3 years or is her name really pronounced Hoosier. I have been listening to this game and I am beginning to think I have been in a different world for a long time.

Anyway, doesnt sound like Mercyhurst is getting much of a chance since they have been in the penalty box this whole 2nd period.

Wait....
GOAL from Payne on a one timer on a pass from Agosta.

Maria Lewis getting some good props from the girls being interviewed during the 2nd intermission. She is obviously missed by the girls.

My daughter doesn't call her Hoosier if that helps.

Hey MIC,

Now the guy is misprouncing Colizza's name. I would think since these are our announcers they may want to get to know how to pronounce the names.

Sounds like some sloppy play on the part of the Laker D and costs the Lakers a goal.

Yes, and I hear Hoosier again. Amazing. They've also been mispronouncing some of the other names. They may be student voluntters but......

Not sounding good for the Lakers. UCONN just scored on the PP and flying high. Is it Agosta time??
