Believe me, I havent forgot. Guess who else hasnt forgot, the Lakers. I still have nightmares about Jill Luebke's performance that day. That game alone got her USCHO.com player of the Week. Hopefully, the Lakers can score a bunch of goals on her early and put the game away.
Hopefully???, common' MIC, you know you think the Lakers are going into the state of Minnesota to dominate, along with scoring a closet full of goals,.....heck on the D-III side, you'd take no caution with your predictions, so why hedge on the D-I side???,.....now I was wrong with BSU in their series vs. MSU, but this one is pretty predictable,.....the Lakers will win both games with game 1 being a blowout and game 2 tight, but still in control of Mercyhurst,.....I'm a big BSU but I'm sorry to say that they are going to get run over this weekend,.....

I really don't think so. Nobody runs over us, we just cant score. Our defense is pretty good actually, and our goalies are outstanding. I like our chances, like I did against Mankato, both at home...We just can't score.
On paper, its a 5-5 team going to a 2-5-1 teams house for a couple of games....
Go Beavs.

Looks alot like last year's game. Today, the onslaught begins. Mercyhurst will open a can of whoop ***** all over the Beavers like you have never seen. Oh who am I kidding, the Lakers dont own a can of that stuff.

I'm not even predicting a win today. Really, honestly it depends on if our goalie, Emily Brookshaw, plays she is capable of. Beavs cannot score, plain and simple, and the defense is pretty decent. We don't score many, but we don't give many up. The Beavs skatted really well in the first 10 minutes of yesterday's game, but we kind of tailed off after that. If we can sustain the energy and compsure like we did yesterday, we should have a shot. The key for us is staying out of the box, and #20 for the Beavs played a great game yesterday, and stayed out for us. (I think she has 11 penalties so far from my count).
I hope I am wrong, but I say 2-0 Mercyhurst today. (Empty netter)

I was wrong last week when I predicted the Beavers to take 3 points vs. MSU,.....I'm pretty sure they'll get spanked today, that is, unless this Emily Brookshaw stands on her head,.....this Laker team is looking for a game to ignite their season, as they just haven't found the groove yet,.....but hey, there are alot of good teams out there sputtering right now, and this may be the kind of year where a Mike Sisti team doesn't have to win 27+ games to get into the big dance,.....

4-2 Beaver Loss today, but all-in-all the most entertaining weekend of Woman's Hockey I have seen in Bemidji all year. Both games were exciting and the Beavs showed a lot more than they have at any other time in the season. Mercyhurst was just too much in the end. #34 Pendalton has some shot too!
Good Luck with the rest of the season!

Checking the box score from Saturday's game, Stefanie Bourbeau was not listed. Any word on why she did not play?

I understand Bourbeau was slashed in the head by number 15. It was so bad it knocked her out it seemed. I5 should have received a game DQ but obvious anything goes in the wcha. The game was only close because it was dangerously physical, so I was told. Five penalties were called in a game that could have had 25. The Lakers were short without asst captain Lansing and had a few others injured. Bourbeau missed half of the first game and all of the second. Don't know, but they seemd to dominate game 2 without these players, but just speculating

My impression watching the game was essentially the same. Some pretty physical stuff not called. I believe Erickson was also hurt Friday night (someone had to be helped off with either ankle or knee injury). Lakers showed grit coming back Friday night and scoring the tie when they had to. Hosier was slamed in the head pretty hard in the overtime and play was stopped for several minutes while she was checked out. She recovered and did a nice job. There's no question that the Lakers came out much stronger on Sat. and it was a fast fun game.

It wasn't that bad. Your player crashed into Sears, which was a borderline penalty in itself, and as she was bouncing off the mammoth girl, Sears swung around and hit her in the head since she was falling. How can you, who wasn't even at the game, call for a DQ?!?!?! The refs let them play hockey, and it was, as I have stated before, 2 great games.

A. You wern't even here for the games.
B. I don't know what kinda of prissy crap you are used to, but that was great hockey there.

Nobody dominated this weekend. It was pretty darn even, and it was great hockey. We should've won game one by a close margin, you won game 2 by a close margin. These teams are a lot closer in talent than their records or over-rankings indicated. Mercyhurst is a good team, but they don't need you to whine for them.

Their wordage in the post implies that this person wasn't even there, yet they feel the need to call for a DQ on a play they didn't even see!

I just want to say how lucky mercyhurst is to have courtney drennan. She is by far one of the best goalies in the country and she is in mercyhurst. She is going to be their rock for the next 4 years

Mercyhurst is lucky to have Courtney Drennen. To say she is by far one of the best goalies in the country when she hasn't started a game at the collegiate level is going a bit too far but I do agree that Courtney will help the Lakers over the course of her collegiate career.

After the first period, Mercyhurst is up 1-0 on a goal from Bourbeau. MC dominated most of the period outshooting Yale 15-3. Courtney Drennen in goal for Mercyhurst. She is playing well. Jill Nugent has seen the sin bin two times already. More to come...

After 2 periods, Mercyhurst stays in control, although Yale finally looked like a team that beat Harvard as they started to move their feet. Steph Jones and Valerie Chinourd scored "NHL" goals as did Yale's Maggie Westfall on the PP. Shots on goal were once again in favor of Mercyhurst 11-8.
And by the way, put the flag down

Pretty easy game for the Lakers. I expect better from Yale tomorrow. Congrats to Courtney Drennen on her first collegiate win as a goalie.
Yale outshot Mercyhurst 13-9 in the period as Coach Sisti played the fourth line quite a bit in the final period. Pendelton scored for the Lakers as well did Erickson ( I believe).
Good effort by the Lakers but I hope for even better tomorrow.
