Kickoff in about 45 minutes. I think Hosier is in goal today. No room for a let down. More to come....

After one period Mercyhurst leads 2-0. Goals by Dellow and Shirley. Both were beauties.

Cornell playing better today. Also playing a lot more physical.

Marchese scores to make it 3-0 after 2 periods. Coach Sisti might be smart to sit Marchese out this next period. Cornell seems to be going after her in the second period. Shots were 13-5 I think.

Dellow scored her 2nd of the game and Munhofen scored for Cornell with just under 2:00 to go to ruin the shut out. Good effort by both teams.

Total shots on goal in the game favored Mercyhurst 44-18.

Would there be a good reason why gametracker wouldnt be working. Its about 3:20 and the Mercyhurst vs. Quinnipiac game was supposed to start 20 minutes ago. Nothing yet on gametracker. SAJ, is it working for you?

I'm going to go out on a limb and predict Mercyhurst wins this one.

Coach isn't playing by his own rules. Not necessarily -- maybe his rules are just that he goes with whoever's performing better in the games and practices. It's conceivable that the elder Ribble was outperforming the younger Clark and that now the younger Hosier is outperforming the elder Clark. All in all though, didn't Clark set the record for most consecutive games started for Mercyhurst or something? I don't think there's any case to complain about her playing time, unless it was blatantly obvious that she's outperforming Hosier.

There is a reason for what Coach Sisti is doing. I dont know what it is but I will give him the benefit of the doubt. I understand that Clark is the ultimate team player so I am sure there are no problems. Clark holds the all-time win record, men or women, at Mercyhurst so Clark obviously has had playing time. Also, Hosier is something like 10-0 as a starter so I think any argument about why Hosier is playing is really uncalled for.

It may be that he's trying to get Hosier all of the seasoning that he can, and that Clark will get most of the starts down the stretch. Next year, Mercyhurst figures to be even more of a national championship contender than they are this season. Experience in net could be a factor.

I think Coach Sisti bases his goalie choice on both game performance and how they perform that week in practice. Sisti has a lot of confidence in Hosier, since her first start with the Lakers was at New Hampshire, which she won 4-0, and she has seen at about 50% of the action since then. Clark has played well, but her (3-0) loss at Colgate when she gave up 2 goals on 16 shots seems to have moved her to goalie 1B. Clark has great reflexes, a good glove, and moves side to side well. Her one weak point (IMO) is that she gives up big rebounds from time to time. Although I have not seen Hosier play against top 15 teams, I think she does a better a job of controling the rebounds. Hosier has a 0.80 GAA and a .952 save percentage. When she gets enough ice team, Hosier will be first in the nation in GAA and 2nd in save percentage. Clark is 2nd and 3rd in those categories. Mercyhurst probably has the best goaltending tandem in the nation, which is a big reason why they are the number one defensive team in the country.

This is a good problem to have. Heck, I'm not sure who I would vote in as the first team CHA goalie. I would give the nod to Clark, since she has played in more games, but Hosier has a 0.33 GAA in the CHA. It will be a tough call.

Mercyhurst finishes the weekend with the sweep of Quinnipiac on the back to back shutouts, 6-0 and 5-0. Great job Lakers!!! NO LET DOWN!!! Take care of business next weekend against Fetter and his Warriors.

Clark gets the shutout today to prove that the Lakers have two very good goalies.

Hey, MICZAMBONI

Has anyone heard how the Quinnipiac player is after the cross check during Saturday's game? I hope she's okay.

Hey was just wondering if anyone has any predictions of what the final ranking will be for Mercyhurst when it comes to the quarter finals before frozen four, who do you think they will be playing?

I hear she is and was fine. I understand the girl that was "injured" told the paramedic that her back (or neck, I cant remember) hurt a little so it was all precautionary. The cross check was questionable. They were on the boards fighting for a loose puck, side by side, and she went down.
This is coming second hand from a fan at the game.

A lot of things will depend on where other teams finish their conference tourney. If there arent any upsets in the CHA, WCHA, ECAC or HE I would think they would finish where they are right now, 7th. If in fact they finish 7th it would be hard to say who they play since they only seed the first 2 seeds. Also, would you consider Mercyhurst in the east or west? That would be another factor in determining who they play I would think.

Unless some major upsets occur and the PWR change a whole bunch Mercyhurst is heading to Minn. My guess is that will play the number 1 seed, unless the selection committee doesn't want UW playing at UM or UMD in the first round, then they will play the number 2 seed and three teams will be flying (Mercyhurst, the Hockey East winner, and St. Lar. or Harvard). If UW plays the number 2 seed, only Mercyhurst would have to fly.

Even if Mercyhurst overtakes St. Law. in the PWR, they would still likely travel to the west because there are 4 east teams that would require no air travel. Merychurst is behind St. Law. 4-1 in their PWR. They would need to overtake them in two out of these three categories to move to sixth, RPI, Teams Under Consideration, or Common Opponents. I just don't see two of those happining.
