After the second period.
MC 4 BC 0
SOG MC 15 BC 7
Two short handed goals in a :29 span in the first minute of the period pretty much has closed the door on BC. BC didnt mount any sort of attack at all that period. I expect to see a better period from BC in the 3rd.
Bourbeau scored on a breakaway :28 into the period. At :57 McDonald scored. Unfortunately I didnt see it.
McDonald had another breakaway opportunity with 3:00 to go in the period when Colizza made a nice pass at center ice. Quandt made a nice save.
Fraser scored at 18:06 when she came in untouched from the corner and flipped it over Quandt to make it 4-0.

MC looked real good again in the 3rd.
BC switched goalies to Moynihan to start the 3rd.

Teresa Marchese should be one of the top 10 shoices for the Patty Kaz award. What did this girl do to not get any recognition at the national level?
She is absolutely incredible with the puck. She makes everyone around her look better.

I would hope Desi would be considered as a national Defensive Player of the Week for her record breaking performance on Sunday. Deserves to be considered.
Bourbeau's goals were pretty enough to be considered for offensive player of the week also. Her one timer was one for the hi lite reel.

MIC, I agree with your assessment of Marchese. She is a very talented player. While I have no doubt she would be one of the two nominations coming out of Mercyhurst, I do not see her as a top 10 Finalist for the Patty Kaz. She is currently 25th in the nation in scoring. For voters that do not get to see her on a regular basis, this stat will cost her votes.

Unfortunately for Marchese there arent many goal scorers on the Mercyhurst team. I understand it will hurt that she is 25th and I understand why but it is to bad. She is, IMO, one of the top 10.

Pendleton scores her 2nd goal of the season at 14:12 to make it 1-0. SOG after one is 13-7. Other than Riggs, Niagara not much of a threat yet.

Final
Mercyhurst 5 Niagara 1
SOG MC 10 NU 5 Total SOG MC 47 NU 16
Mercyhurst played 4th line alot in the period and did well.
Niagara actually came out and played well in the 1st and scored when Riggs redirected a shot. From then on out it was all Lakers. Game got a little chippy again. 2 penalties in the first minute of the game on a roughing and a checking. Most physical game I have seen to date.
