I haven't had the pleasure of seeing the Warriors play yet this season, can anyone tell me how they've been playing? I know they earned a tie at Bemidji and beat Elmira twice (I don't know how you gauge beating the d-3 champ), but I haven't heard enough to know if the new coach has made his presence known yet.
Also, what can we expect against Colgate this weekend?
Thanks!

Not bad, 3-2 OT loss at Colgate. It would be nice to see them start winning some of these tight games.

Indeed the 2-3 OT loss was Colgate not Cornell.... but they rebounded nicely today with a 4-0 win over Colgate with everyone... and I mean everyone... chipping in. Great backchecking, great forechecking, timely changes, great saves when needed, no dumb penalties and no panic iin their eyes. Surprising how decent talent comes to take shape when packaged in a good system.
Nice to see ex-Warrior Cap'n Kelly Pike there to root on her ex-teamates.
Best of luck girls!

Sorry, for confusing Colgate and Cornell. No offense intened, just a little early morning, haven't had my coffee coma.
Nice to see them pull the shutout on the road. That's a good sign and I hope it continues!

None taken. I just wondered if Cornell had a game I didn't know about.

You know, I'm almost hesitant to post anything positive about Wayne State for fear of either jinxing them or bringing attention to any future opponents... better maybe to fly under the radar for a while - but they looked pretty good this past weekend. Again, evryone contributing from netminder on out to defense that pushes shots from wide and forwards who forecheck and backcheck with the same vim and vigor. Same exact team as last season as the only two new recruits haven't suited up yet, three cuts were made and of the two seniors lost only one saw any considerable playtime. Need to give credit where it's due... great job coaches! Keep it up everyone! 1-0 victory followed by a 2-1 on a total of 45 shots all weekend!:)

Yeah from the sounds of it, the Warriors had maybe their best weekend ever. The real test now is if they can build on it with a good showing against Mercyhurst. The Lakers have traditionally cleaned up on the Warriors, so this could show a lot about either how far they've come or how far they still need to go.

WSU Women's Hockey Team Donated Proceeds To Cancer Fund
Nov. 14, 2003
Proceeds from last Saturday's women's hockey game between Wayne State and Niagara University was donated to a fund for former Purple Eagle Jennifer Goulet, who has been diagnosed with throat cancer.
The fund was set up to assist in covering the costs of Goulet's treatment.
Goulet, a native of Cochrane, Ont., played 104 games from 2000-03 for Niagara.
"One of the big lessons of athletics is teamwork, pulling together for a common purpose," stated Wayne State Athletic Director Rob Fournier. "When you think about it, this is really an example of what we teach everyday. We are all teammates in life's challenges."
"We are pleased to help Jennifer and her family during such a difficult time," WSU head coach Jim Fetter said.
All ticket proceeds as well as the money raised from "Chuck-A-Puck" was donated to the fund. In addition, the Wayne State women's hockey team members contributed an additional $350.00 to assist the former Niagara student-athlete.

Really not an embarassing showing at all from the Warriors over in Erie. If the administration, fans, and most importantly, players are patient the Warriors will be top 10 in 2 years. I understand there will be a new rink built ( I caught the tail end of a conversation so if I am wrong I'm sorry, I am not trying to start any rumors) and that will draw some quality players in the future.
