UMD becomes the first team other than UW to own the belt this season, albeit for only a day, on the strength of their 2-0 win on November 24th. The Badgers take it back by posting a 1-0 victory in the rematch.

So Wisconsin still owns the belt with a little more than a month to go in the season. Man I hope it ends up in Erie again.

'Sconi' is 4 weeks away from their quest to duplicate Minnesota's accomplishment of 04-05 -- own the belt at the conclusion of every weeked of the season.

The Badgers continue to hold onto the Belt so tightly that one begins to believe that it really exists. Two more wins and they'll own it for another summer, along with a new NCAA record for fewest losses in a season (and they'd tie the records for best winning %, and for the second time, most wins.)

Memo to Wildcat fans:

We are sorry to report that Wisconsin will not be bringing the belt to Durham.

The belt will next be contested in Duluth.

BEWARE: Wishful thinking at work . . . . :oAfter trying the Belt on for a day, apparently the 'Dogs didn't like the fit. Thus, the Belt will be spending Turkey Day in Minneapolis. Happy Thanksgiving to all!:)

The Belt will celebrate the holidays in Minneapolis, then head to Detroit once play commences in 2008.

As they did back in November, Wisconsin and Minnesota will battle for the belt on the regular season's final weekend.

With their win on February 23rd and a tie on the 24th, Wisconsin has reclaimed the belt and taken it back to Madison.

Wisconsin lost the belt to UMD on March 9. Either the Bulldogs or the Lakers will wear it to the DECC for the Frozen Four.

Minnesota won the belt on Oct 10th in Duluth, retained it on the 11th, and treated it to a Dairy Queen on the ride back to Ridder.

Yeesh, looks like it'll take a while for that belt to come back east. :(
