parity at its best in the top 8 this week!!

new polls can start coming anytime today....might wanna wait for the Manhattanville/RIT game though in case there is an upset because that counts this week and could make a major difference in the polls....One thing is for sure...we are gonna have a new 1:(

I guess with the sweep over Elmira you've got to give the #1 spot to Plattsburgh. But just remember that Middlebury beat them this past week too, for the second time in just a couple weeks.

I think we've got a real logjam, and teams like Midd, Elmira, Manhattanville, Plattsburgh, Bowdoin, and even RPI are all really close to eachother, and are all VERY strong this year. Any of them could win the NCAA title, it almost comes down to luck of the draw, ice surface (some times are going to be better on a big sheet of ice, for example), and so on.

I see three teams on top and have a really tough time putting them in order, but here goes:
1. Middlebury - gradually making me believe
2. Manhattanville - two wins against a good RIT team
3. Plattsburgh - 2 huge wins against Elmira
Similarily, the next three seem obvious, but the order is not so obvious:
4. Elmira
5. Bowdoin
6. RPI
Next, comes the Wisconsin confusion...we'll have to wait till the end of season for this to get sorted out, but for now...
7. Superior
8. River Falls
9. Stevens Point
And its really tough to pick number 10 but I decided I should pick someone from MIAC even though the record outside the conference is not pretty...
10. St. Thomas

Plattsburgh and Middlebury are neck & neck. If Middlebury wins out by beating Bowdoin soundly in Bowdoin, they have a good argument for #1. River Falls had last year's leading scorer Ali Slinden return (academically ineliglible). However, she did not return until after the Falcons second series with Stevens Point two weekends ago. The Falcons are now the Frozen Four team of last year and are mounting a late season charge. Whoever comes out of the NCHA will be battle-tested and ready for war in the NCAA tournament.
