A statistical interlude, for those interested...I know that folks have questioned both Utica and Williams being in the USCHO poll, the fan poll, or not!! Well here are the stats to prove your point, no matter which side of the fence you land on:eek: Utica has beaten teams with an average winning percentage of .258 and has lost or tied teams with a winning percentage of .763 The percentages for Williams are .280 and .790, respectively.

Polarbear2 notes an interesting point about Utica and its schedule. They have played 7 games against 5 D-III teams that each have a combined D-I and D-III record greater than 0.725. (They are RPI, Plattsburgh, Bowdoin, Manhattanville, and Elmira.) All of these teams were in the D-III top 6 or 7, (with Plattsburgh, Manhattanville, and Elmira being 1,2, or 3) at the time they played them. Utica has not beaten any of them. (Currently those teams are 1, 2, 3, 5, and temporarily just out of the top 10) I do not claim that Utica is a top 7 or 8 team. I do think they are in that next group of 7-8 teams.
