I don't know if anyone reads the MN HS hockey message board, but there was a thread recently about Tom Gorowsky that said he "blew out his knee in his most recent tennis match."
http://b9.ezboard.com/fmnhsfrm1.showMessage?topicID=5397.topic
I brought this to the attention of someone close to TG, this was their response:
"Tom decided NOT to play tennis this spring because of his knee injury (from hockey). He is simply recovering from the hockey season right now. The doctors have held him from any physical activity so far this spring. On Wednesday, I believe they will let him start to train again."
So, there is NO blown knee, NO tennis and he appears to be very close to returning to 100% which is great news!
Best of luck to TG and JoePa as they start the USHL finals on Thursday, I believe!

To finish up his rehab and get back to 100%. I didn't mean to make it sound like he'd be joining Pavelski for the USHL finals...just best wishes to one on his recovery and the other in the finals!:-))

Chad Morin is a BIG time talent. He's had some adjustment this year, but its a good sign for college hockey that he has decided to return to the NTDP. He's could be a very good start for the '06 crew.
Gorowsky seems like he needs some time off to completely heal. I am not sure of the nature and extent of his injury(ies), but I'm glad the young man is taking the time, and following his doctors orders.
Kessel and Morin in '06. Hmmm...sounds good.
Wisconsin Hockey: NTDP Pipeline.

While adding Kessel AND Morin would certainly be cause to celebrate, it sounds like both will be '05's rather than '06's. I could be wrong..I've been twice already this year..but I believe both are planning on accelerating!:-))
Wisconsin Hockey: At least that's what their baby-sitters told me!:-))

Tom did not blow out his knee playing tennis. He didn't go out this year to recover from his hernia surgery (which is going great) and to heal his knee which is just taking some time. He will be fine from both. Short of being on the team I'm as close as you can get so I know he didn't blow his knee out or anything of the sorts because he isn't playing tennis.

Everything I have heard is that both Kessel and Morin are targets for '05 and probably our top two along with obviously another goalie.

I have heard Garrett Suter has been offered a spot on th USNTDP U18 team and is leaning on playing there over GB. This may make him a logical candidate for 05 rather than for 06.

anyone have any idea who the early leaders are for Morin?

I never post on this board, but I follow college hockey and these boards closely. I firmly believe if Kessel cannot accelerate to 05', he's going to take the major junior route.

There was an article about him at the hockeyscouting site many months ago in which he said that IF he went the college route (which it appears he now will) that he had 5 favorites. Wisconsin was the only Western school he listed along with BC and 3 other Eastern schools I can't remember. It was mentioned earlier in this thread that JD Forrest (BC) is his cousin, I believe. Hopefully Matt Auffrey, a fellow Northern New Yorker, can "help".

That's cool! Hopefully that's based more on his development and not just his name. He'd be the 4th Wisconsin kid on that team with Kessel, Skille and Lawrence. Garrett would be another solid "recruiter" for the UW, too. He and Kessel are old Madison Caps buddies.

My son played with Kessel and Suter for the Capitols for 6 years. In addition, Nathan Lawrence was a part of that team for a few years as well. Skille played 1 year with the Capitols way back with the squirts. As a friend, it would be amazing to see all these guys continue together:eek:; they all are great kids.

I just saw Mark Osiecki at the Culvers on the beltline, and he was with a young man who I saw leave in a van with his family that had a (ironically enough) Culver Academy license plate holder. Any idea who this could've been, possible recruiting trip?

With those clues, it'd have to be Garrett Suter.
Culvers and Cap Ice Arena (Bobby's rink) are less than 5 minutes apart, both in Middleton. Gary and Ryan both played at Culver.
With the apparent offer from the NTDP now on the table, it seems that Garrett's in the middle of a recruiting battle between USA Hockey and the Gamblers.
Wisconsin Hockey: Mmmm...Culvers!

Wisconsin Hockey: Another Suter?

It could also be Dan Krenn, who might be Culver's best player and might be tender or draft worthy. Dan is from Madison and I know that Cap Ice is where these kids all go skate once their season is over.

That does look kind of like the person I saw. Bobby wasn't with though. The USHL has a draft, right? And the Gamblers drafted Garrett?
I wasn't staring at him :p , so I'm not sure if it was Suter. I am sure it was Osiecki though.

Sags-
I suppose it could be Jeremy Dehner, too. He put up some good #'s as a junior dman at Culver.
Here's a pic of Krenn:

I believe Suter was taken in the special Futures Draft the USHL held last August. Yes, he was drafted by GB.
The regular USHL draft is coming up, too. May 12th, FWIW.
Wisconsin Hockey: Genuine Draft!
