Not sure if anyone's seen this, I was just wasting some time looking around, and found it. The list goes back a ways, kind of interesting to look at. AJHL players going to college in the US: http://www.ajhl.ca/education/99-00_uscb.html

And it looks like UMD is going to be loading up big time on Camrose boys. All are among the league leaders too. Not sure how good all these players are, but I just know Heatley, Bourque, Hukalo, and other Badgers have come from the league.

that is all good, but there are guys on there, like Brodeur, who didn't go to college, so I don't know how set in stone that is.

on Pearce or Morin from the NDTP who I think I remember hearing were in for a visit during the season (I though Hybs mentioned them)? Both represent areas of major need for the next recruiting season, hopefully as the replacements for Bruckler and Suter who hang around another season. Has Brock Bradford ever been mentioned as considering UW?? I think the dream recuiting list for next season would be: Pearce as the goalie to pair with Elliott, Morin & Engel on D, Kessel &/or Bradford to add to Gorowsky and Skille. Is Kessel an '05 or an '06 possibility? Anyone I'm missing??? I would think Garrett Suter would be a part of the future at some point. Is he a prospect for '05 or '06?

If Bruckler stays for his senior year, I wouldn't be shocked if the Badgers passed on Pearce. His injury must be pretty severe because USA Hockey released the roster for the upcoming U-18 Championships and he's not even on the team with guys like Auffrey, Skille and Kessel. Frazee and Schneider are the two goalies. He's been out for a LONG time.

As I've mentioned before, Shane Connelly of the Chicago Steel might be the real goaltending prize for '05. As an '87, he's put up some **** impressive numbers in the USHL. He's a tiny guy but I guess very quick with an amazing glove. He's a Culver academy kid just like the Suter's, Jamie Spencer, Kirk Daubenspeck, etc. He's a native of Pennsylvania. The Badgers did alright the last time they recruited a PA goalie. From what I've heard, every big time school still looking for a goaltender wants this kid.

Sounds like Kessel plans on accelerating for '05 but I don't know if that's definite yet. I heard a while back he just wanted to be a kid and play video games and really wanted nothing to do with the whole recruiting process. Can't say that I blame him...

G. Suter is a HS junior if I'm not mistaken so I think if he's Badger-material, the earliest we'd see him is '06. He's already in the 6', 190 range, though.

How good would that '05 class of forwards look with Gorowsky, Skille AND Kessel? Hopefully the idea of staying home grows on him eventually.

How about Lawrence who played on NTDP? Is he walkon material in the future or does he have other options?

I'm still trying to figure out how they'd make room for Skille, Gorowsky and Kessel for '05!:-))

if he want to be a Badger just because of numbers at forward. We have so many forward already and add Ford, Jo Pa, & Aufrey this fall with Skille & Gorowsky next year. We only lose Rene, Eich & Talafous from the forwards over the next 2 seasons. Barring attrition which I do expect, there just won't be any money. The only scholarship forward I envision is an elite player like Kessel or Bradford.

You'd need to get some Scholie deals like Dowell got. A Full Ride for 3 years once some money opens up as we'll lose about 4 Forwards for the 2006 class. Plus with early exits or transfers some money will usually show up somewhere, not to mention a guy like Lawrence could be better off playing a year of Juniors.

When you guys say '05, you mean the 2005-2006 season, right? In that case, wouldn't it be possible for Garrett to play that season? Or were you thinking he'd definitely play a year of juniors first?

Where are Skille, Gorowsky and Kessel going to play? Who will they replace in the lineup? There are not any regulars at forward who will graduate next year. So where do we put them? How do we make room for them?
There are going to be a lot of players who are going to sit and from what I can tell with Eaves, a lot of guys are going to rotate. Players who didn't see segnificant playing time on the fourth line this year are going to have to step it up to just see the ice next year, as are many who did see major ice time. Depth is good, but can a team have to much? How Eaves handles such a large team will be interesting. Gibson has been mentioned as a player who might leave over playing time, any others that might also consider leaving?

What a conundrum :( Since you don't have room for Kessel, I'm sure you won't mind when he goes to Michigan. No sense in making him sit on the bench for a couple of years waiting for a spot to open up. Or forcing him to redshirt a season.

Okay genius, first of all, if we did nab Kessel there would be more than enough room for HIM. Kessel, Gorowsky and Skille will all be big time players that will step in and get a roster spot most every night if not every night. The plus side to getting them in with lots of other personel is we wouldnt have to "rush" them into taking over a leadership role, and instead let them grow in the program and become the amazing players they are capable of. Its been said before, but apparently it hasnt sunk in. There is always room for the best.

Sorry, con, I guess I should have posted the SARCASM AHEAD sign at the beginning of my comment. Sometimes it just slips my mind, but you can never be too careful, especially on a Badger thread. My fault entirely.

Actually, HH, you should affix many signs to your posts so that we all know you are absolutely clueless and aren't just trolling.

Or better yet, don't post at all.

There is nothing in your post that suggests sarcasm. No comments that can only be tongue-in-cheek or incredibly stupid, no winking, tongue sticking out or smiling emoticons. I guess all of us just missed the USCHO update that gave us the verbal form of your post so we could tell that you were being sarcastic. Unlike you may think, people cant tell you are being sarcastic unless you actually make an effort to make your post that way.

I'm too lazy to go back and see if it's been discussed, but I was wondering about lines for next year and years to come, just to see how many forwards we'll have and if there'll be much room for new guys. Just curious. Thanks.

I heard rumor that the Wisconsin Showcase Team is practicing in Madison this weekend. Does anyone know if there are any scrimmages scheduled?

Piskula & Drewiske's Des Moines team got swept out of the playoffs in 3 staright with Piskula chipping in an assist and Drewiske going scoreless. Jo Pa has a goal and an assist in the first 2 games of their series with Chicago with the series tied at 1. Potential goalie prospect Shane Connelly has given up 2 goals in each of the games and has a save percentage of .95 on 80 shots!!

Hybs, has Connelly shown any interest in UW or UW in him, or are your thoughts on him more of the top prospect on the board that we should be interested in?? Do you know what Pearce's injury was?? It must be severe for the ammount of time he's missed.
