I notice Hockeysfuture just updated the Flyers Top 20 prospects and Bruckler has moved up to 10th. The guy they called up before the Burke trade is listed at #3 so hopefully they keep him as the starting goalie in the AHL next year and leave Bruckler alone. I really doubt the NHL will start on time next year anyways as well.

... there are 3 other goalies ranked right behind Buckler for a total of 4 other goalies in the top 20 BESIDES Buckler. I think they still have Hackett who got hurt as well as Burke. I would think that the Flyers are not going to be in a big rush to add Buckler. I would think getting another year of free seasoning would be their preference. Why sign him to a pro contract, just to have him play in the minors? Unless they are convinced he will be with the big club I just don't see him getting any pressure. I think the key is Burke and Hacketts contract status beyond this year. I would also suspect the Red Baron would look at the makeup of this team (YOUNG) and figure things are only going to continue to get better and want to be a part of a special season.

Is Hackett even coming back? Doesn't he have vertigo? I thought I had heard that his prognosis wasn't particularly hopeful as far as resuming his playing career, but I have to admit that I don't follow the NHL nearly as closely as I once did.

Is there any chance that Bruckler would return to Europe to play professionally?

Read in the paper today that Ford picked the Badgers over CC and Maine. He accepted a partial to come here over more $$ elsewhere. He thinks his best shot at a national title is at Wisconsin. I like this kid already. :)

Another target mentioned was Christian Hanson of the USHL. He's a forward who doesn't have a lot of points, but is only 17 and would be an '05-'06 recruit. I think the article listed Notre Dame and Ohio St as his other visits. I'd guess he is a candidate for a partial.

An article in the Wisconsin State Journal today that unfortunately isn't online confirming Ford's verbal. His other 2 final schools were Colorado College and Maine. He choose Wisconsin because he thinks they have the best chance of winning a national championship. He also accepted a partial scholarship, didn't list the details, and said the money deals at the other schools were better, but felt Wisconsin was worth it.

A new name also was mentioned 17 year old Christian Hanson a 6'3 190 pound forward from Pittsburgh. He currently is playing for Tri-City in the USHL. He would be a 2005 recruit and also has vistited Harvard, Ohio St and Norte Dame. He hopes to choose a college soon. I notice his numbers aren't much, but I'm guessing their must be a good deal of potential with his size and age.

I love this kids attitude. Was there an article that was put out before on Drewiske regarding what he accepted, or did it just not get disclosed if he is coming for a partial or a full. It would be great to have one partial left so that we can go out and nab another scholie player, specifically a Dman. Also, maybe Eaves can work some of that walk-on magic he did with this years pack of frosh. I realize that roster size becomes an issue because the kids want to play, so maybe we are really only looking at picking up one more dman and leaving more additions for next year.

I'm not sure how reliable that is, or whether Ford and Drewiske both got 3/4er each which would eliminate the 1 & 1/2 we were supposed to have. I'm not sure anyone other than Eaves and staff know exactly what we have. One thing is for sure, we certainly will have enought players to field a team (or two)!!

Anyone heard anything about Tom Gorowsky from Minnesota committing to you guys? He leads the state in scoring. My brother goes to school with him and the rumor yesterday was that he'll play a year of juniors and then come in in '05.

He would be a welcome addition if true.

Haven't heard anything around here.

Do we have 30 scholarships :) :) Seems like we're recruiting alot of 2005 kids and have very little room scholarship wise.

Getting Hanson would be AWESOME:

I have NO idea if he's any good (I'd assume so) but his dad, Dave, was one of THE Hanson brothers in Slapshot. He'd be a perfect addition to the team. Scroll down:

I know Kyle Klubertanz and Brendan Olinyk but I've never heard of Kyle Olinyk. Who is he?

I read on the River City forum that Brett Motherwell broke his leg this past weekend and could be out for the rest of the season. A great year on the ice for him but a broken foot and a broken leg in the same year has gotta be tough. It'll be interesting to see where he ends up in '05.

I heard Tom Gorowsky had to leave a game this weekend with an injury, too.

Wisconsin Hockey: Old-Time Hockey!

That's awesome.

I notice he was near the top of 2005 USHL kids of Heisenbergs site and it seems at the top anyways he sort of ranks them.

Gorowsky would be a great addition to UW if the rumor is true.

I haven't seen or heard anything on this except for the question posted below.
