She didn't really have any help on this team. I have seen her play on off-season AAA teams and she is a team player when put with good players. I remember her on a line With Anna McDonald (going to BC I think) last Fall and they were great.

RPI's schedule certainly gets tougher from here out....

Union X 2 RPI is probably better at this point but probably not enough
to guarantee two wins. I'll say a good chance of a sweep
though.
@ Connecticut Tough game - would hope to make it close
@ Northeastern Tough but winnable.
@ Wayne St. X 2 Tough games but winnable.
@ Clarkson By far the best opponent on the schedule. Would be
happy with a close score.
@ Vermont Definitely a winnable game.
@ Sacred Heart X 2 Should be 2 easy wins
Plattsburgh Should be a win
Williams Ditto
Quinnipiac X 2 Tough games - Quinny seems to be a good upstart

The Sacred Heart and D3 games should be wins. The Union games should probably be wins. I would be thrilled with 3 or 4 wins out of all the rest of the games. They won three of the remaining games; UConn, NU, and one against QU. I suspect that with a full team team, UVM would also have been a victory.

These are Whitney Naslund's stats the last three years. She led Bloomington-Jefferson in scoring each year. In parentheses is the second highest point total.

04-05 31-19-50 (22)
05-06 44-20-64 (33)

It seems way too early for the hockey season to be over. It would have been nice to have tentatively scheduled a couple more weekends of games against teams not in the playoffs (Cornell, for example).

Here's my quick take on the season: a very successful first year in D1. The Engineers ended up being ranked #22/32 in the Rutter ranking system, and #21 in the Ratings Percentage Index, so roughly 2/3 of the way down the charts (http://math.bd.psu.edu/faculty/rutter/WomensRankings.html). To have climbed over the bottom third of the teams in the first year should be considered a success. They had some success against higher ranked teams (1-0-1 against #19/16 Colgate, and 0-1-1 against #21/17 Maine), and lost two against lower ranked teams (the split with #24/23 Quinnipiac and the loss with the short bench against Vermont #31/30).

Next year will be a much bigger challenge. While hopefully the team will be strengthened with some additional good recruits, they now will face not only the top half of the rankings which they didn't face at all this year (with the exception of Clarkson), but some of these teams will be strengthened by some outstanding players returning from a year of very intense training and competition in the Olympics. A goal of making the ECACHL playoffs (assuming it stays in the format of 8 teams in and 4 out) would be a realistic one, but with teams like Quinnipiac and Cornell making strides as well it will be a real battle.

FYI

NCAA restricts the number of games allowed to be played so you just can't plan a few extra for fun late in the year.

I don't know the exact number but roughly:

D1 - 34 plus some exceptions for playoffs
D1 - IVY - 29 plus some exceptions for playoffs
D3 - around 25 plus some exceptions for playoffs

Up here in Canada - no restrictions in the CIS.

For example, Laurier will have played 24 league and has had 19 exhibitions before playoffs.

RPI and a number of other teams still have lots of room within those limits.

I've heard from a usually reliable source that RPI's recruits are all set for next year and they will have a roster of 23, which suggests 7 confirmed recruits if I am doing my math right (21 on this year's team less 6 graduating seniors, plus the return of Aho, plus 7 recruits). Now we just need an announcement with some details. :)

The math sounds fine to me. The only other possibilities are that someone is leaving early and that someone besides Aho is coming back. What I am thinking about is that perhaps Christina Johnston would return as the #3 goalie. Anyway, we know about three recruits to date, so there are several more unaccounted for.

Anyone hear any rumblings about next year's schedule? How does the OOC schedule look? Are they going to go to travel pairs in conference to mirror the men?

Anyone hear any rumblings about next year's schedule? How does the OOC schedule look? Are they going to go to travel pairs in conference to mirror the men? This is my understanding, or at the very least they are moving to complete the travel partner system mirroring the men. I do not know if this means that when, for example, RPI/Union men are on the road against Colgate/Cornell that the RPI/Union women face Colgate/Cornell at home.

I believe this is the Jodi Jaworski mentioned on another thread. If so, I think she is originally from Calgary but at Choate this year?

http://board.uscho.com/showpost.php?p=2122736&postcount=8 Jodi Yaworski, D, Choate pg, size, stick handling and an agressive contact spirit.

She played for a team called Calgary Chaos in 04-05. She also appears to have played internationally in badminton.
