However, other than those game she really hasnt had any REAL teams putting shots on her which does help her numbers a lot. Define REAL team. I guess Clarkson isn't a REAL team.
There you go again - putting other teams down again.

you just cant be satasfied, can you??
Im sorry...lets add Clarkson and Vermont in there too....wow four games now...my point remains the same and you are just trying to nick pick and start something...grow up and stop acting like a 12 yearold.
Putting other teams down?? last time i checked it wasnt against the law to put down bad teams like weleyan, st. michaels, holy cross, salve regina, Cortland, Buffalo State, Chatham.....like you've never put a team down before?? Give me a break....

Clarkson and Vermont should have been in there from the start - that they are D-I only makes her numbers more impressive, not less so.

Give me a break.... I'm only pointing out your faulty logic. Is Holy Cross a bad team? Maybe not to Salve Regina. You're up there with your head in the clouds again.
Using your logic, we can't even consider Elmira or Manhattanville's goalies - after all, all of their performances came against inferior teams. I guess we can only determine whether or not they are among the best by how they play against each other, right?

Your list includes some weak teams. However, I wouldn't put Holy Cross in that list. When they have their full complement they are a decent mid-tier team who gave M-ville competition early in the season. They were not playing with everyone when they played RPI. Not saying the results of HC-RPI would have been different but probably would have been closer.

now you've completely lost it...Saying that Elmira and Manhattanville have not played anyone is by far the stupidest thing i have heard on this board in a long time....
whens the last time RPI played Plattsburgh, Middlebury, Stevens Point, Bowdoin or Wayne State??

whens the last time RPI played Plattsburgh, Middlebury, Stevens Point, Bowdoin or Wayne State?? When was the last time THEY played RPI?
Let's see... last time we played Plattsburgh was 11/20/01 (RPI won 4-1)... Middlebury you have to go back a bit farther, 2/16/01 (9-0 Midd)... a little farther with Bowdoin, 1/06/01... never played Stevens Point (but then again, neither has Elmira...)... Wayne State is D-I, so I guess they don't count.

Elmira has never played Stevens Point eh?? time you brush up on your facts again....Stevens Point and EC met during the Middlebury tournament this year and battled to a 2-2 tie...I never said D1 games do not count!! stop putting words in my freaking mouth! I said D1 games cannot be factored into determining polls and rankings!!!
RPI played Plattsburgh when Plattsburgh was not a dominant team in 2001. NOW they are a dominant team...
They havent played RPI because RPI has not proven anything in the last 2 seasons!! they havent won a big game until now over manhattanville...maybe they will get games against the top teams now because of this win....
you need to seriously stick to D1 Mens hockey because you're making yourself look like a fool right now....

I never said D1 games do not count!! stop putting words in my freaking mouth! I said D1 games cannot be factored into determining polls and rankings!!! I brought up the Clarkson games and the other D-I games, and you brought that up. Completely unrelated to a goalies strength - ergo, you thought playing D-I teams was unimportant.
RPI played Plattsburgh when Plattsburgh was not a dominant team in 2001. NOW they are a dominant team... You asked, I responded. Plattsburgh becomes a "dominant team" in the span of two years and suddenly they don't want to schedule RPI anymore? You clearly don't understand how games are scheduled, bucktooth.
They havent played RPI because RPI has not proven anything in the last 2 seasons!! they havent won a big game until now over manhattanville...maybe they will get games against the top teams now because of this win.... Afraid not... RPI is on it's way to irrelevance - moving to D-I and all.
you need to seriously stick to D1 Mens hockey because you're making yourself look like a fool right now.... Had enough?

i have seen both goalies play...i can tell you if i was coaching and had to choose between these two...it would be impossible to pick
they are both excellent...and BOTH #1 goalies

Does anyone else find it amusing that what started out as an argument based mostly on RPI (you know the team that the thread is supposed to be about) strength of schedule has turned into a huge argument....do you even know what you are arguing about anymore??? It seems to me that both of you are putting words into the other's mouth from posts put up by other people...so what again is the point here?? Are we discussing anythign relevant to this thread anymore??
Let's try and start another discussion instead of an argument that no one can win until the teams play head to head...give peace a chance;) :p

Um... looks to me like it was still RPI, albeit an argument about RPI.
But you're right - let's stop worrying about what some kid thinks he knows about the Engineers.
Road games the rest of the way - I'm looking forward to seeing the team in a couple of weeks at UMass-Boston and then for the finale at Williams. Let's see if we can't run the table the rest of the way!

wow...talk about someone who just cant drop an arguement.....i used to respect you a lot and think you were one of the better posters in the cafe but this is just unbelievable...I never claimed a knew a thing about RPI...there you go putting words in my mouth again...as i have said countless times during this whole ordeal ILL WAIT UNTIL I SEE SCHIFF PERSONALLY TO PASS JUDGEMENT!!
BTW, where have you been the past seasons of RPI hockey?? seems to me that this the first year you have actually posted on them or followed them.....hmmm...i smell a bandwagoner....when the team wins..RPIRED will come:rolleyes:

I wasn't physically there but I followed the team as they won the national club championship in 1994. I went to several games at Middlebury before there was a women's NESCAC (it was closer to home than Troy). And, with the exception of times that I have been out of town, I've been to almost every home game in the past 4 seasons that I have been here.
OK?
Now please leave unless you have something constructive to add for the first time.
Moving on...

So...Salve and UMB...
And I guess I will throw in Williams too...
The next two weekends should be no problem...assuming RPI comes to play and doesn't underestimate either team!
Salve has a decent goalie IIRC, but as I have not seen them this year I'll just go by last year and their current record...should be a game worthy of practice...keep the game-speed juices flowing and take the opportunity to set the pace so that in tighter games they are able to do the same....consistency is a big factor...60minutes to a game afterall!
UMB is a great beginning program....they have already turned heads and seem to be taking the same route as NEC...start off strong the first season in the league and just get stronger as you go...RPI should win this, but again this is a good opportunity to play a game of possession and just outwork them for all 60 min.
*side note: can't wait to see how the league goes next season with the new teams really picking up steam faster than normal...2 seasons instead of 5 or so
As for Williams...haven't seen them for a few years...but no one who has ever played can forget the potential threat Wasserman poses everytime she is on the ice! This will be a good test for RPI to end the season on a strong note...they should be heading to the playoffs (barring drastic events) right after this game, so hopefully it will give them a good test and some confidence for playoffs.
I think that RPI can definitely run the table....all they have to do is play 60min in all five games...there were some lapses this past weekend that I think could have been the difference between the split and a 4 point weekend...but these girls know the value of hard work, so if they stick to the game plan and just earn every inch I don't see any of these teams stopping them:D
