I'll definitely try and make both games. Who will be calling the games on WRPI? It's going to be awfully tight with the football game scheduled for 12.

Speaking of WRPI, I went to the Wesleyan game and listened to the broadcast. As always, the WRPI crew does a great job. It's nice to see the women get some air time, hopefully it's a trend that will continue.

Looking forward to Aho and company hopefully lighting So. Maine up. Come on out to the Field House everyone!

As to Saturday, they will probably JIP the women's game after the football game is over.

Our women's hockey broadcast schedule is at our website www.wrpi.org under the Sports page.

Today we will join the women's hockey game against the Huskies as soon as the football game ends. We will also broadcast the game tomorrow at 3 pm as well.

SEE YA THERE Try any of the hotels on Wolf Road in Colonie - they're worth it. Can't say the same for any in Troy but it is a short drive from Wolf Road, no more than 10-15 minutes.

Off Exit 7 on I87 (Latham), there is a Hampton Inn and a Microtel Inn which are both clean and very adequate. It is a straight shot from these hotels on rte 7 into Troy maybe about 5 minutes.

Just a reminder that you can catch all the action of the women's hockey team as they take on RIT this weekend on WRPI. The first night, the 23rd, the game starts at 7 and then the next day, the 24th at 3 pm.

Does anyone know if anything additional has been announced about the move to D-I after the initial announcement? E.g., is there a timetable yet?

Times-Union aritlce on RPI

Nothing new to report really.
First quotes I've ever seen from Union's coach. All fair and good, but why are you in the ECAC in bringing it down NOW?
Case you didn't notice, Sacred Heart was removed from the PWR/RPI (correct cause they don't play 20 D-I games), so Union's D-I record is now what it should be, 0-whatever.

I haven't posted on this thread in a while even though I started it! I would have expected more chatter considering the two best teams in the conference are playing a twin bill. Lots of questions to be answered in these two games. Is RPI legitimate? Is Manhattanville really as good as everything suggests? Why exactly did RPI drop from the rankings? Wait, that's a whole different question.

Seriously though, unless RPI's D and Rosina play a perfect game, Manhattanville should win both games. BUT, I will reference the RPI game against Clarkson for those who think Manhattanville will win in a cake walk. I think everyone would agree that Clarkson was BY FAR the best team RPI has played against this year. RPI won the first period before Clarkson truly showed that they were a D1 team. RPI came out with a tie despite being severely outplayed the last 2 periods. So, the moral of the story is that the games are played for a reason!

if it makes you feel any better im looking forward to this series!;) :D

and pretty much for all the reasons you just listed...Both teams have a chance to make some statements and stand one some ground come ECAC East playoffs time.....Should be great!!

and im pretty sure that eyes in the nation are on Albany atleast for tonight as they are no other BIG games out there on the schedule for today....

Wow, no comment on the M-ville game last night. What a great game. Who did the head count? They must have been doing it during intermission. The attendance looked to be closer to 500+ than the "official" 275. Great support for the women's team by the RPI students.

Even in a 2-1 defeat, RPI showed that they can play with M-ville. M-ville took control for 7 or 8 minutes late in the 2nd period, but took two penalies to give RPI a 5x3 advantage. RPI came out in 3rd and really took it to M-ville. Sarah Daniels, Katie Woodward and Julie Welte all had good chances in front of the net in the period but could not convert. The SOG in the 3rd period were close to being even.

A funny (that is funny odd and funny ha....ha) thing in the 3rd on a faceoff to the left of the M-ville goalie. The M-ville left wing tries to skate up the boards, and Christina Jankowski holds her up and they both go down in what looks like an interference call against Jankowski. Jankowski skates to the box and the scorer puts the penalty on the board, but the ref comes over and says, no, it was a holding call on M-ville.

Good Luck tonight Engineers....Let's Go Red

Wow, grreat game last night. The shots don't indicate how close it was. I just hope RPI can pull off a win tonight. Both teams are well-matched; RPI has a few better players on their first two lines and Manhattanville has more depth. I think that was the difference in the game, better conditioning on Manhattanville's squad. RPI seemed to slow down a bit in the second period giving in to fatigue, but, they picked it up in the third. Good luck tonight girls!

P.S. There were way more than 500+ at the game. It was closer to 800+. Great crowd.
