Ducks vs. Stars - Game 1 Classic!

Game 1 of the Ducks vs. Stars...if you aren't watching this game, what the hell is wrong with you?!

The best part is, the game isn't even over yet! We're heading to the 5th overtime. Goaltending duel between Turco and Guigere...Guigere has faced more since the Ducks seem to be weaker than the Stars right now, but they have their chances still.

Sadly Turco loses less than a minute into the 5th OT as Petr Sykora scores on a partially deflected shot. Ducks lead the series 1-0.

Still, great game. Turco and Giguere were outstanding in the OT periods.

The puck was centered from behind the net into the slot, Sykora came in and fired a shot that beat Turco to the right. Turco was already leaning to the left anticipating Sykora was going to pull the puck. Well, he anticipated correctly, only Jere Lehtinen stuck his stick out to try to block the shot and ended up redirecting the puck to the shortside. By then there was nothing Marty could do.

Guess it could have been worse...could have been that Kariya guy scoring :)

What an amazing game! Hats off to both teams!

Oates is just plain amazing. At age 40 still forechecking in the 5th over time and almost always in the right place. I was beginning to feel this game was never going to end. I was getting tired just watching them until 1:30 AM. Hope these guys can recover in the short 37 1/2 hours before the saturday afternoon game.
