UNH with a 4th-line goal...Maybe the tide's turnin' a little...

UNH has got to be elated to get any production out of that line...especially with 2 converted defensemen playing forward. UNH is starting to come alive a little bit....going on the power play.

what a joke so far, cornell dominates, scores and it's waved off for no reason.

Ayers shouldn't have complained about playing it with a high stick. If anything he should have liked that it was since he already went down to the ice to play it. :D

Yeah, that was "Connecticut" that Sean McDonough belted out after New Hampshire's goal. He just apologized for it.
Ay caramba. When did Sean McDonough trade brains with Pat Summerall?

Hopefully the scare made them realized the severity of their poor play. Either way, keep it coming!

On the Cornell goal/no-goal:
Hockey needs a rule like the one in place in the NFL. No goal should be overturned without irrefutable visual evidence that the call was wrong.
The evidence existed to overturn the goal call, but it was far from irrefutable. I went back and forth about four times while watching the replays. If that's the case, the call should stand. If the replay official thought that was irrefutable, he's either A) seeing replays that we aren't (which isn't happening, he gets what ESPN has, and ESPN shows what they have), 2) blind, 3) biased, or 4) he doesn't know the rules regarding stick height.
So, yes, Cornell Fan, you have a beef.

Looks like we got a game, boys, compared to the
first :15 when the ice was extremely tilted in
Cornell's favor

You are correct, sir!
Regarding the disallowed Cornell goal....
Rules state stick must be less than 4ft off the surface of the ice. Announcers said that generally is around hip level. Looking at replay, Paolini's stick clearly hit the puck around chest level, hence the goal was disallowed.
Looking through my big red glasses, it looked to me like he was not standing straight up and the goal should have been good. Enough whining, great goal by UNH, and there's still 2 periods left. GO RED!!!

Good post, Bruce.
Cornell owns the first half.
UNH the second half.
Cornell would rather play with the lead so I give UNH the edge. Not really what I expected. Leave it to the refs to introduce controversy right away. Hopefully it doesn't affect the outcome, although I don't see how it won't at this point.
