Being a DU fan I was really down in the dumps after last night's game. Then we start to hear what happened to Joe Exter. We all have our rivalries. We are all passionate about our team. Above all else we all love and care for College Hockey. In a sense we are all family. I am just sick about Joe Exter. To Joe, his family , Coach Serino and the Merrimack players rest assured we are all praying for you. Get well. God bless you.
It makes me feel more at ease and gives me chills at the same time to read all the wonderful comments supporting Joe, Coach Serino and our team. As fans and friends of Merrimack I think that we all appreciate it and are truly greatful for the postive feedback.
I have had last nights play running like a loop in my head. Tonight I hope we can all get past that and win one for Joe and Marco.

Last night I was happy for the 8-4 win over UML, but then I heard about what happened to Exter, and I was in shock and my happiness went away. It's a shame to see what a bad thing can happen to such a talented guy. He's a great goalie, and I would even consider him for HE player of the year. I will keep him in my heart and pray for his recovery. God bless you Joe, and get well soon!!

Being a DIII spectator, I have not followed close tabs on DI hockey as much, but Joe sounds like a great kid.
Just wanted to send along my prayers and wishes to him, his family, his doctors, his team, his coach, and everyone else involved.
Pull through buddy.

From the Patten family, our thoughts are with you and we hope for a quick and strong recovery.
Also, I have not seen it mentioned here, both my wife and I are thinking of this young man's parents. We can't imagine the horror and fear that they are going through. Joe may be a grown man now, but in their eyes he's their baby boy. No matter the age, this does not change. Our hearts go out to his parents, and his family members who are undoubtedly sitting at his bedside at this very moment.
