I got to see Joe Exter one last time on his senior night last weekend. .He looked so happy and his parents were so proud. He made some spectacular saves and he's been the heart of the Warrior team this season.

It was good to hear that his condition has been upgraded. My thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family.

Wow, I just read that on the front page. Talk about going from being pleased about Michigan tying and securing second place to being absolutely down in the dumps.

This news is just awful to hear. I'd never want something like this to happen to someone I don't like like Chris Kunitz, let alone a player that I respect like Exter. I guess it kind of puts everything in perspective.

My thoughts and prayers and go to Exter, his family, and the rest of the MC hockey family. I wish him the best of health.

As a Cornell and ECAC hockey fan, I've never had the privelege of seeing Joe Exter play. However, every time the subject of goaltending is raised on this board, I am amazed at the number of HE fans that have nothing but good things to say about this kid's character and talent - he must be a remarkable person and a fabulous hockey player.

What happened last night was horrible, but I KNOW that I can say that any college hockey fan who is worth a **** is pulling for Joe and his family through this whole ordeal. Joe, I am hoping that your recovery is quick and complete and that some day I have the good fortune of watching you between the pipes - good luck and godspeed...

I have nothign but good things to say about this kid. He is the heart of the Merrimack Team. He has helped them to many wins this season, but he has also been an awesome leader as captain. I have seen him play many times and Merrimack is one of the toughest teams to play because they have heart and desire. I think much of the desire comes from the inspiration of Exter. I hope you have a speedy recovery and that everyone has the pleasure of seeing you play again someday.

Yeah, I totaly agree with you about being down in the dumps. I'm finding it hard to get going for tonight's game. I can't imagine how hard it is for the team to get up for tonight's game.

It's also great news that his condition has improved.

I don't know if this is appropriate, but if any of you out there pray, I suggest you do it NOW. The young man needs it. Here goes mine: May the "Healer of Every Ill" be with Joe Exter, his physicians, and his family. In addition, may the "Healer of Every Ill" also visit coach Serino, his Merrimack team mates, Coach York, and his B.C. players and heal the "ills of all sorts.

Now is not the time to address an astonishly incompetent referee whose emotional decisions ( in this and numerous other games) have had profound effect.

I was sickened by reading the article because it reminded me of what happened to Joey Martin last season. Not too many things can make me more ill than seeing a player lying on the ice going into a seizure. :(

Best of luck to Exter, and I hope he makes a quick and full recovery.

Being a DU fan I was really down in the dumps after last night's game. Then we start to hear what happened to Joe Exter. We all have our rivalries. We are all passionate about our team. Above all else we all love and care for College Hockey. In a sense we are all family. I am just sick about Joe Exter. To Joe, his family , Coach Serino and the Merrimack players rest assured we are all praying for you. Get well. God bless you.

Positive news about his condition which is improving. At least it no longer seems like a life threatening injury.

Let's keep THIS thread up top and not the BLAME threads.

Our prayers and best wishes are with Joe Exter and his family for a full and speedy recovery.

It was terrible to read about Joe last night but reassuring to read about his improvement today.

Good luck from the Niagara Purple Eagles.
