www.achahockey.org

this is the ACHA website which is the national league for club hockey. Both Div 1 and 2 ACHA contain many Div 1 schools

for starters.....The question that comes to mind is DO these sanctioned D1 teams use the players from club teams to fill roster spots?

I definitely hope not, even though Michigan and Michigan St are NCAA div 1 their clubs teams are ACHA div 2. While still containing a lot of strong talent, most of these players couldnt play at the Div 1 level. THere are only a handful of Div 1 acha teams as u can see if u look at the website (www.achahockey.org). There are a lot of Div 1 schools in the ACHA that are part of the Div 2 acha. Might be a little confusing to read, but if u just look at the website youll see what i mean.

Here are the only Schools that have both ACHA Div I teams as well as NCAA Div I Teams:

Mercyhurst
Niagara
Cornell

All three club teams play in the ECHL with Mercyhurst have a decent program each year, Niagara being pretty crummy each year, and Cornell being all over the place. Cornell looked poised to jump into the national picture after their first two years, but their program has since collapsed.
Everyone know about the capabilites of the NCAA teams
