SEASQUIRT-Yes The top four teams are better then the rest and it is great watching them play but I think your going to see in the next few years that the top four will not be all but guaranteed a win against the next 6 – 10 teams as they have been in the past

Did you not notice the Princeton score or MSU over UM. I think SLU lost a game or two also. OSU and UM. UNH should play more teams in the top to really evaluate there talent They have only played one WCHA team NDU and went 1-1.

Any thoughts on this series to possibly determine the Hockey East Champion?

Providence is 1-7-1 at the Whit. The win was the 1st time they've played there and all but the last loss were by more then 1 goal.

Should be some good hockey, as we saw a few weeks ago it really could go either way. UNH is promoting the Sunday game as "Pack the Arena Day" so hopefully it will draw a good crowd, I know they are bringing alot of youth hockey groups in and the girl scouts, not the ideal crowd I'd like to see, but any seats better than an empty seat I guess, as well as giving students double the Cat Scan points (get entered in to contests for free tutition money and what not), but I doubt they'll show.

Is this the week end, that UNH ensures the league champion ship?
Who out there has any predictions....should be some great hockey!

UNH needs 4 more points after today to guarantee Hockey East or Providence to loose two more games including Sunday's.

I think today pretty much secured UNH first place as far as the league overall standings go. I think when tournament time comes we'll see a very different two teams, similar to last years finals. I was very impressed with todays game and the high speed in both ends throughout all 3 periods. I do believe the win could have went either way. I think tommorow will be another hard fought battle. I will be surprised if UNH sweeps the series being how they usually split. However, winning at Providence was a big momentum builder for the team. We all know these two teams have a history and usually show up to play. I do believe for them to complete the sweep Bourdon and the forwards such as Gordon, Hansen, Jones will have to perform, similar to today, for Providence defensively they need to shut UNH's offense down. As always when these two play It should be a great game.
Lets hear some predictions!
I got Providence 4-2, winning it in the 3rd. ( I want the sweep though);)

The Hockey East Online story said that a sweep would be enough.

UNH and Providence will wrap up their season series with a home-and-home set next weekend. A sweep by UNH would secure the regular season title for the Wildcats while a sweep by Providence would set up a thrilling to-the-wire conclusion to the season.

The 'Cats have 28 now, Providence has 21, if UNH wins today they have 30, Providence has four more games left and could only get 29.

UNH clinches the Hockey East regular season title with a come from behind 4-3 win against Providence. The 'Cats were down 3-1 going in to the third but never gave up and a beautiful shot that raised the corner clinched the deal in OT.

Steve, I'd say that now that they've clinched they might play her just to give Bourdon some rest for the playoffs.

well, that and BC is terrible. :)

hmm, maybe I'll try to see both games. although, her not playing would be even more incentive for me to go :D

I think even if they win out they are still too far out to make it.
