I was wondering that myself. That last time I saw her name in the box score, was way back vs Yale, and the official site has her having only played in 6 games. Is she injured or something?

I am pretty sure she has some condition that does not permit her to play. I think it was adressed someplace on this thread actually.

I forget the exact nature of her injury, but I vaguely remember hearing that UNH was recommending that she take a medical redshirt this year.

Well, she's no longer on the roster at the official site.

I seem to recall she had some rheumatoid arthritis issues with her hip?

Just out of curiosity..............was the cowbell crew down at MC tonite? Was at the women's game vs BC and they weren't there. The game was great though.....7-0 'Cats, and another shutout for Bourdon.

Did BC give any fight at all? Who played in the net for BC? Did they have any scoring opportunities?

It really wasn't close. UNH outshot BC 50 to 8 for the game, and only one of their 8 shots was a decent scoring bid (rebound but no one there to do anything). Lisa Davis was in net for BC.

Todays game, Sunday, was much like Fridays game. UNH just out played BC. They controlled the puck most of the time and other then a few defensive mistakes just made it so BC could not get any shots on goal. UNH had Busa in goal. From what I remember, the goals BC got against her were the couple of times the defense broke down. I suspect Burdon would have had a better chance of stopping them but then that is why she is the number one goalie. Busa did make a good stop or two. I was happy to see one of the other goalies in net against BC. If they ever have to step in they need some net time.
The other question is since Busa was in net today does that mean she is the # 2 goalie and Grahan #3? Which ever way it is I am glad one got to play. I never like to watch a one sided game but I thought BC played hard through out the game and that is good to see.
I still think UNH will come out tops in Hockey East at the end of the year. Not to many more points and they are guaranteed a spot in the Hockey East playoffs.
The next two games against Providence will tell us a lot.

Yes, UNH did dominate the game again, they are just a much stronger and faster team than BC is. However, I thought the first one of BCs goals was a good rush and they should get credit for it. Bourdon is definately more reliable than Busa though, and I say this because the second goal was very soft, a shot from out near the blueline on a rush. Slid right in the net on ther right side. Maybe she just lost sight of it though. Hats off to BC for playing hard all 60 minutes no matter the score

There is a press release posted on www.hockeycanada.ca for the U-22 team playing in a tournament in Germany next week. Two UNH players have made the team -Stephanie Jones (F) and Martine Garland (D). This is a great opportunity for these players. It looks like the US is not at the tournament.

Speaking of Canada's U22 team, have we heard anything on the US camp that took place in December. Has our National team been announced yet?

No. And last year, the U.S. national roster was announced around the first week of February.

I don't think they necessarily have a #2/#3 spot on the team. I think McCloskey is just trying different people. The last time Bourdon was not in net, he went with Grahn so I think he just figured it was time to give Busa a start.
I would rank Grahn ahead of Busa if I had to guess a #2 or a #3 goalie. I personally feel she's a little more sound in net............................but Busa's only a freshman so she could greatly improve.
The "cowbell crew" won't be at the game on Saturday night because we'll be up at Maine for the mens game but I think we might be making the trek from Orono to Providence for Sunday.

Well, yeah... the US is not about to schedule U-22 tournaments in the middle of the US college season, while Canada typically plays in this tournament.
Wonder if Weatherston/Walton will be available for the second Minnesota game. I didn't realize this tournament went all the way until the 7th. That sucks.

I am a little surprised that UNH is not getting as much interest on this board as they did in past years. Is this because they are not going to make it to the frozen four this year? Last nights game against Connecticut was, as always a fun game to watch. In case you didn’t look at the scores UNH won 4 to 1. To me it looks as if UNH gets better every game. The team work is getting better as well as the players. It is fun to watch the players and team developed. This is what I think people are missing this year. That is watching the core of a new team developed. It is clear that next yea,r this year’s group of freshmen are just going to get better and with the prospects of next years group being as good as this years group I see nothing but good things for this team. So if you haven’t seen this team play this year get to one of the few remaining games so you can see what you have to look forward to in the next few years. With so much praise for the freshmen the rest of the team are doing great too. Carolyn Gordon is having a great year, she scored two more goals last night and Lindsay Hansen and Kristen Thomas are doing nicely too.
I much prefer to read what others think then post my own thoughts but I did what you folks to know that I think you are missing some great hockey at UNH this year. Yes The top four teams are better then the rest and it is great watching them play but I think your going to see in the next few years that the top four will not be all but guaranteed a win against the next 6 – 10 teams as they have been in the past and I don’t think that is because the top four are getting less talented but because the more teams are moving up to meet the top level. I think that is way they championship play off will be expanded to 8 teams soon.
So come watch UNH play if you get the chance. I know I will be there whenever I can.
