View Full Version : What The Holy Hell Is Going On?
I am sick to death of every news report starting:
"Two civilians were killed."
or
"The Red Cross expresses outrage."
I feel for the Afghan people, just as I feel for people all over the world who haven't had the opportunity to live well and grow as individuals. But if you look at this logically, they are in the wrong place at the wrong time. Lousy luck. But what are you going to do about it.
Allow madmen to use them as shields--to buy time; to stretch this out until they can unleash a wave of smallpox or even nuclear weapons?
Yeah--if you're stupid. If we don't stop thugs like these, who will? France?
We need to take full-force action and need to do it now. Yes, the world will howl. Yes, civilians--many--will die. But no semblance of a free, progressive world will surivive if America goes down. What then?
We have no choice. We have the means to wipe-out this scourge and the moral obligation to do it.

Handyman,
Who are we to tell Israel what they can and can't do? That is one reason we have a bad rep throughout the world........(ie) "we ALLOW Israel to deal with terrorists". Americans come off as arrogant and pompous. We used to condemn Israel for it's covert assasination policy..............gee, who else is now going to take that route? As the saying goes, "don't judge another until you've walked a mile in his shoes" Now that we've taken a short stroll in Israel shoes, we are picking up on some of their tactics (ie.) assisinations. Israel goes through this crap everyday. I'm not saying their methods are right and they are not guilty of any wrong doings, but its something to take into consideration.
Chief, we give Israel about 3 billion a year in aid. They wouldn't exist without us. We know it, they know, the Arabs know it. That's why not only do we tell them what to do to a certain extent, but why they do it.

More from WFTV.com:
The northbound lanes of the Florida Turnpike were shut down south of St. Cloud late Friday morning. The Florida Highway Patrol is very concerned about a trooper who became very sick after making a traffic stop.
The people inside the car he stopped drove off after making some sort of threat.
The trooper is being decontaminated in the emergency room at ORMC. He had pulled over a black Nissan on the turnpike. The trooper gave the driver a ticket, the driver laughed and drove off. The trooper was overcome by some kind of fumes, could not breathe and became disoriented.
The driver and passengers are reportedly two men of Middle Eastern descent. The car tag is registered in Cape Coral.
The trooper is reportedly in stable condition.

I know we give them billions of dollars in aid, including weapons, tanks, planes, and other military aid. What sense does it make to give Israel all these weapons, and then tell them when and where they can use them? We gave them all these arms to protect themselves, so let them do it as they see fit..

We gave the these arms to protect OURSELVES.

The gloves should NOT come off!!
The Isreali government never steps up to plate when it counts... only for their OWN stately purposes... they've turned on the US **** quickly in '67 on one of our Navy ships... I think the Isreali's have used the US like a tool - meaning: they get what they want yet they never take care of business when it needs to be done on an international level.
I view Isreal as one of those whacky political-alliances, Circa [similiarly to] 1909 Crisis leading up to The Guns of August.

Sounds interesting to me. What strikes me the most is if these people are responsible for whatever made the trooper sick, then there is an AMAZING amount of arrogance and "f - you" in their actions. They could care less. They can hide behind our push not to condemn Arab-Americans for simply being Arab and pull whatever crap they want.
I'm afraid that actions like this will lead to more and more rstrictions on our freedoms, when the real solution is to track them down and crush them.
Goph, I believe the word you're looking for is proxy.
And I still don't get what Ramadan has to do with anything.
"All terrorists are not Muslim".
"99.9% of all Muslims are good people".
"This is not a war on Islam".
"We are not targeting Islam".
"This is about terrorism, not religion".
"Oh, it would be insensitive of us to continue the fighting through Ramadan".
Huh? If this isn't about Islam what the f'ck does Ramadan have to do with it?
Do we not arrest Jews during Hannukah? Do we not arrest Christians during Christmas? Not fighting during Ramadan totally contradicts every bit of PR we've put out there.

At least Israel doesn't fire back. What happened to all that money we gave Afghanistan to fight the Russians all those years. My understanding is that the Taliban is the beneficiary, and look at what they are doing now.

Israel is used just as much by America Hank, dont believe it is one sided at all!! And look how easily Americans turn on Israel, before the attacks the country was more pro Palestine than it was Pro Israel. Now it is different obviously.
Everybody uses everybody in politics!!

We gave Afghanistan money and weapons to fight the Soviets. They fought the Soviets.
It was mutually beneficial. VERY mutually beneficial. (The Soviets weren't invading for the fun of it, they wanted a warm water port on the Indian Ocean. If the mujahedin hadn't stopped them in Afghanistan WE would have had to stop them in Pakistan or Iran or the entire Middle East would have been de-stabilized, as in no more oil for us. It's not like we just did the Afghans a favor.)
And it doesn't mean we all have to be friends for eternity.

If they did that, they wouldn't be around to blame anyone. I think that would be pretty **** funny. Of course, we could nuke them, then when they blame us we could just say they're lying and that they did it to themselves. :)
