One thought, if both towers came down, would it make sense that there would more than likely have been a bomb (or more than one) in the basement of each building? Would an injury to the top take it all down? I assumed that architecture and engineering of multi-level buildings was such that in case of an emergency to the top, the building would not fall.


Has anybody thought of the idea that this could be the result of the Wold Trade Center bomber trials?

The buildings collapsed from the top down so I believe it was the structural damage that caused them to go down.

I can only speculate, but the impact from the plane probably caused significant structural damage to the entire buidling, not just where it hit. The towers were likely designed to withstand a horizontal force from the wind, but obviously not the force of a 767. In addition, once the top starts to go, the lower portions of the building would undergo a rapidly changing load.

a lady I work with has a son who works for an explosives company that implodes buildings. According to what she told me, her son commented before it happened that he thought that those buildings would go down based on where the planes hit so it seems as if its very possible that it was the planes alone that brought down the buildings.

Take that for what its worth.

According to engineers on CNBC, a bomb in the basement, such as one that went off in 95, would have done little to nothing to the towers due to all the concrete/bedrock down there.

A couple of engineers that I work with said the crash and the fire easily could have caused the area around the impact to fail and collapse the buildings.
