Very moving pictures in that European thread. When are my eyes going to stop misting up over this ordeal??? In some ways -- hopefully never.
I've been thinking a lot about the military response that is impending. For some reason I am really hoping that along with the countries who seem to be by our side in almost anything we do, such as England, that we get support from France and Russia. France tends to stay away from this sort of thing, and having them invloved would show an incredible support of unity with NATO. To have the Russians by our side would show how much this world has changed and maybe start a foundation for a friendship into the future.
Another interesting point is that we are promising the Pakistani's military and economic support if they support us fully in strikes. This could prove to be very interesting given the antagonistic relationship between India and Pakistan. India is generally a friend of the US as well. It may be tough to balance the two.
France and Russia are on board. The Russians are moving troops to the afgan border.

Wow, those pics are very moving. I got an email from an attorney friend of mine in London. She and friends went out Friday night and their favorite pub was very quiet and somber. She said it feels like her heart has been ripped out.
Pakistan is stalling for time. They created the Taliban and have essentially told us that they would only work with us if we exclude the Israelis and the Indians. I think their "support" is pretty shallow and transparent. If it comes to it, we really don't need their "permission" to cross their airspace.
I believe that we will need the support of the Russians and Chinese for any sustained campaigns in the area. The Chinese have been dealing with the radical Muslims in their southwestern provinces for years, so they may have a vested interest in helping us. The Russians are definitely onboard for now, but Putin has pretty much ruled out using their soil as springboards for any responses.
I think the real focus, beyond the obvious military responses, has to be to cut off the support channels Bin Laden, et al. enjoy in the Mideast and Europe. Cutting off financial and logistical assistance is key and will require concerted action from our "friends" who have tacitly assisted these ********.

Well, sine Pakistan is also armed to the teeth with nuclear arms, I think it's not that bad of an idea to cross our t's and dot our i's and accept their help instead of making like Sherman and not giving a crap about who we **** off.

Pakistan has nuclear weapons?!? Well, big ******** deal. Who doesn't?
Personally, I'd rather accept their help without conditions, like excluding Israel and India from any coordinated action. Considering how much help we've given them, and virtually every other nation on Earth, only to get kicked in the balls later on, now is the time to find who our REAL friends are.
Like Colin Powell noted, nations are either with us or against us. There are no gray areas on this issue. And I seriously doubt the people running this show are going to allow Pakistan to dictate how we respond.

Those countries that we are now asking to ais us in putting down the terrorists are now making demands. They want money and aid if we want their help. Its a pity that we have to play games with the ********but its that or nothing at all.Let us thank God that we dont have too many friends like that.

Well said Murphy...THIS I agree with you on. Screw playing it "safe". That would only come back and bite us in the *** anyway. We need written and DEMONSTRATED commitment from every nation on Earth coming up for renewal HOURLY.
I had a lady come in my store and tell me that the sign I put in the window "offended her". The sign is the same as my title here on uscho..."you want Jihad, you've got Jihad". She said she was in the military (likely her husband as she was vague as to how) and proceeded to inform me that people were going to die over this! No *****!!! I did partially apologize for offending her personally and I think I got it through her head that most of us are in one way or another...prepared to die in the name of freedom.

Some Los Angeles Businessman are putting up 1 billion dollars reward for scum laden head. Will that do it?. All the Talking heads are saying scum is financing the teliban, so why wouldn't they take the easy billion. What about waging some propaganda on the people of Afghanistan, can't imagine they wouldn't want to eat on a regular basis instead of starving and keeping scum alive.
Lets face it bombing the country to death will do nothing, how are they going to root out the scum?.

That's ingenious if true. Do you have a link to back this up walrus?
Conditions, yea right. The time is now to find out who is on our side and who isn't. They have a simple choice, Us or them. It is time to put up or shut up.
I have heard some people say it is our own fault. We maybe could have done things better. The only problem is they feel we should quit helping israel (sp) and give them finacial support. One problem, Bi a-hole is a millionaire and so are the other muslim countries. Even if we quit our support. These radicals won't stop. They want the whole world to follow there idea of religion. Sound familar. They tried this centuries ago. So did the Christians. It doesn't work. So whether we could have done things better or not. These people could careless. It is time to rock there asses and anyone who gets in our way. It sounds harsh, but we are left with no alternative. Buckle up boys and girls. It is going to be a long ride.
BTW, To all the idiots harassing middle eastern people. Grow up! Most Arabs in this country are actually Christians. If they aren;t they are here because of our freedom. The muslims, arab muslims and Arab christians are all hurting too. So grow up! We need them just as much as they need us. God Bless America!

I wouldn't say armed to the teeth exactly. They've tested some nuclear arms, but there is nothing to indicate that they have an arsenal by any means. Christ, they may not even have one warhead at this point.

I'd say it is a certainty they have more than one.
Pakistan claims to have detonated 6 devices in their 1998 tests. Three were definitely confirmed by seismic readings and a fourth probable. The others may not have existed (they lied) or were too small to be detected (also possible).
Either way, were I to develop nuclear weapons I certainly wouldn't test detonate all my warheads. So they must have more.
The detonations were certainly of highly enriched uranium, being easier to construct and also because it is known China supplied them with plans for a uranium device. But there is a debate over weather weapons-grade plutonium was detected after the tests, which would mean they either produced the plutonium themselves (possible, but difficult) or got it from somewhere (that would be China again).
In any event, they definitely have more than one weapon. They do lack a long-range delivery system. But if factions within Pakistan become upset with Pakistan's relationship with the US and Pakistani nuclear security isn't great, who knows where the warheads may "wander" off to.

You know, I think we're all hungry for revenge. On Tuesday, I think ninety-five percent of the country was ready to turn Afghanistan into the world's largest parking lot. I think we have to remember, though, that it if we don't take great pains to single out those behind this, we, too, are going to kill innocent civilians. I realize that we can rationalize blanket military force, and blame it on the Afghan government for not giving up bin Laden. The reality is, however, killing civilians would make us no better than the terrorists themselves. We'd be making no distinction- discriminating, if you will- between innocent civilians and the true aggressors, just like the perpetrators did when they killed 5,000 innocent people.
But when we do find them- see photo below.

The stock market is supposed to open today... things are trying to get back to normal... which is good. Some of our friends are safe, and some have had their lives taken from them unfairly and with no honor. The weekend was tough, especially tough watching the mothers, wives, sons and daughters, as well as brothers sisters and friends holding photocopies of pictures looking for their loved ones on street corners in New York, I pray for everyone these days.
Oh, we will strike back, and I think our government and miiltary are preparing and doing things 'right'... as the sign below states...
Henry.

Mr. Rittinger, Esq., good to see you back.
Someone (Bobo?) said a deep simmering rage. Yes, that sums it up.
Let us not do what we so often do and prove again our notoriously short attention span by blindly moving onto the next 'crisis of the week.'
The price of our Freedom is eternal vigilance.
