Maybe you heard something different than I did then. Oh, wait, you were not in the smoke filled E-Wing with me. If I heard it once, I heard it a half dozen times. It's a straight forward leadership issue.

You're more full of crap then I gave you credit for. Even if you are someone who miracously deserves clearence into the Pentagon for whoever you claim to be...that makes you even more ignorant to have the views that you spew here about what role Presidential safety plays in the times of US crisis and the SOLE REASON for Air Force One and the SPECIFIC WAY IT WAS DESIGNED AS A SAFE AIRCRAFT!!!

I'm not sure of the credibility of the source, but it says that the footage played on the major news networks showing Palestinians celebrating the terrorists attacks on the U.S. were shot back in 1991. Here is the article if you're interested:

This is interesting... I don't know the source so I can't comment either.

isn't it amazing how these stupid nostradamus "prophecies" always come about after the fact.

http://urbanlegends.about.com/library/weekly/aa09110b.htm

if anyone were interested in what the nostradamus prophecies were all about and what they really mean you should read a book by james randi - sorry the name escapes me at the moment.

Huh? Personal attacks? You are way stressed out. Take a break.

"Even if you are someone who miracously deserves clearence into the Pentagon for whoever you claim to be"

Miracously? Claim to be? Let me clue you in here, Randy, it's not that difficult to obtain access into the Pentagon. You simply need to have a reason to be there. If you want to know who I am, or what my role in life is, you can email me offline. Quickly, I am an intel officer currently assigned to a senior DoD office. I work out of the Pentagon. Personally, I don't think it's a big deal... others seem to have a problem with it.

"that makes you even more ignorant to have the views that you spew here"

More personal attacks? I haven't spewed anything. I simply gave my experiences from Tuesday (maybe you should read them). In my two plus page recollection, I included one sentence that seems to be have caused you and others so much pain. There are much more important matters to discuss and ponder. Calling me ignorant is the pot calling the kettle black.

"about what role Presidential safety plays in the times of US crisis and the SOLE REASON for Air Force One and the SPECIFIC WAY IT WAS DESIGNED AS A SAFE AIRCRAFT!!!"

Actually, I'm somewhat familiar with the safety standards for the President during crisis situtations and have a fairly decent understanding of AF One. I've never flown on it, but I've been on Looking Glass once.

I hope this clears things up for you. Have a good evening.

Cheers,

Fellas,

Maybe we could drop this discussion? I don't think it is helping.

Excellent. Good to know. Would have been scary otherwise.

I haven't, but my brother has. He's a retired lieutenant colonel with 22 years in the Air Force and a Fighter Weapons School graduate with a Distinguished Flying Cross and numerous other medals earned in combat. Here's what he wrote me about the subject:

Anything the president needs to do can be done as easily from Air Force One as from anywhere else. There is absolutely no reason to rush back to DC in a situation that was 1. Not anticipated by our intelligence organizations, 2. Showed no indications (without the benefit of hindsight) that it was over, and 3. Definitely indicated the DC was a target after the Pentagon attack. I think anyone criticizing the president for not returning immediately is a moron. I'm sure he listened to the advice of the Secret Service who are paid for their advice in such situations. Killing, disabling, or otherwise putting out of action the chief executive in such a situation (no matter how temporarily) can quickly turn a bad situation into chaos. All one has to do is look what happened when Reagan was shot and that was the only incident of that day.

The President isn't some battalion commander. I've been a big critic of his and I don't particularly like him but this is load of horse$hit. He behaved exactly like he should have. To have macholy charged back to DC would have been stupid, naive, and childish.

I've got news for you, if the nukes ever start flying he isn't going to lead the fight from the Oval Office. He'll be in AF1 and SAC bunkers, where he was Tuesday and where he should have been.

A guy called his wife from the PA plane.

"He wished his wife a good life and asked her to look after their three-month-old baby daughter."

Those f'cking ********.

An interesting primer on Osama bin Laden can be found here (http://www.msnbc.com/news/627355.asp#1).

I'm sure that the men and women of the Secret Service that risk their lives everyday to protect the President, would hardly appreciate the comments of those people that would trivialize their decision to ensure the safety of the President before bringing him back to Washington, DC. I'm amazed to see people questioning the Presidents motives when the Secret Service was clearly doing it's job.

The sad thing about the Nostradomous stuff. It was never written. It was all made up by some fool. If you have ever read anything from him you would know that it isn't in his transcripts. The first give away was the fact one e-mail siad it was written in the mid 1600's. Funny, He died in the Mid 1500's.

That is a neat trick.

Media outlets checked it out and it is false. Someone is trying to scare you pcm. Oh BTW GAS IS GOING UP 20 DOLLARS A GALLON! I also own Cargill.

As far as calling the pres a coward. If doing his job is being a coward, then those people making those accusations do not have a clue.

Those of you questioning what the President was doing yesterday, read this.

www.abcnews.go.com/sections/us/DailyNews/WTC_MAIN.html

After reading that I want to hear again why you think he should have gone straight back to DC.

This isn't over yet, (attacks on the US) I mentioned that at lunch today and my co-workers agreed.

Hey, I thought this was a cool idea. Georgetown is right under the landing pattern for Washington Reagan, so we the students are painting huge murals with a main message of peace. We are making them large enough for people in the planes to see.

I thought this was a really cool idea and I'm excited to be a part of it.

My top 3 memorable moments of the day......

1. Hearing a phone call from a young woman on the 102nd floor saying good-bye to her boyfriend and telling him that she loved him.

2. Seeing and hearing the playing of the United States National Anthem at Buckingham Palace in London, while Americans and British looked on teary eyed.

3. Seeing President Bush overcome with emotion as he spoke of events over the past few days.

Some very powerful words, sounds and images.

It isn't over yet folks. See my posts on the "Unlikely to happen again" thread.

Knives were found under the seats of planes in Boston tonight and arrests were made at each of New York's two airports of individuals who appeared to fit the M.O. of Tuesday's attackers. One group was originally booked on an 8 am United flight from LaGuardia Tuesday that was unexpectedly canceled at the last minute. Today before boarding a re-booked United flight they were arrested and found to be carrying knives, one person had a pilot's ID and I believe two had trained at the same flight school in Florida as some of the hijackers from Tuesday.

This was reported tonight by WCVB-5 in Boston, ABC News and now CNN is picking up on it too.
