abc says that two rooms, 1403 and 4, at the westin had been rented by one individual. when the fbi went to investigate, three individuals were seen leaving the rooms, and were put in custody. the three, two women and a man began screaming in arabic, the fbi didn't know what they were saying and feared that there mayt be others still in the rooms, and called in boston swat.

using fibre-optics, they determined that the rooms were empty, blew the doors, and a bomb-sniffing dog gave "hits" on a suitcase and trashcan. that's when they began evacuating and moving crowds back, and called in the bomb squad.

Rufus, just heard that 3 arrests have been confirmed. Looks like 3 different rooms were involved.

The Arabs were supposed to have a scheduled celebration in Milwaukee this weekend with over 10,000 people and broadcast worldwide. This has been cancelled by the Arab leaders in the area. I could just imagine the potetial problems if they hadn't cancelled it.

Just got the message from JH security. They are currently in contact with the Boston police, who say there is no danger to the Hancock Tower and does <U>not</U> need to be evacuated. Police are searching the Westin Hotel and have evacuated it "as a precaution".

WBZ is saying they are searching for three arab nationals who stayed at the Westin. Connections to the Amtrak train?

i just saw an updated victims list that also on united flight 175 was robert leblanc, professor emeritus of geography, university of new hampshire.

the connections, however slight, to us all will continue, and in all liklihood, get even worse.

He was my department chair until two years ago, and a great professor (we only have four geog professors). It has been tough for me and the few geography students at UNH

MSNBC is reporting that the White House was the 4th target (plane that went down in PA) There are also reports that Air Force One was a target.

They are now reporting that one of the Nationals is on that train.

Officials are looking for as many as 4 suspects that apparently slipped by authorities, possibly at the Westin or the other hotel in Newton [across from the Chestnut Hill Mall]. They believe some may be on that train.

Situation here is calm. No evacuation necessary. We've been told that the Police and FBI are now leaving the area and things are "returning to normal". No one seems to be too worried at this point. Of course, we've all been getting phone calls from loved ones wondering what the he!! is going on.
