the truth of the matter is that terrorists will not be able to aquire the technology to use ICBM capabilities. large scale weapons for the third world nations are not easy to move around, and the accuracy is horrid ( not like it matters when the blast radius is as large as it is), but its not like iraq can get 300 nuclear weapons and launch them from the safty of their side of the world, and even get close to hitting the north american continent.

-- LATEST NEWS: Channel 5 is reporting that the bombing of the USS Cole off the coast of Yemen last October was planned by a terrorist cell based in Springfield. In another development in the NYC attack, officials say they have gotten five names of possible suspects out of material found in a car seized at Logan Airport. Two of the men are brothers; one is a pilot. The airport is closed indefinitely; more than 2,000 cars must be towed before it can open.

Carl, I am doing the same.. My family has lost two family friends so far, we are just hoping to hear from others today..

I called Jim this morning and I left a voice mail with all your regards, I am sure he will call me as soon as he can.. In knowing Jim like I do, I am sure he is helping out his friends and family.

I have to say this thread has shown to be how wonderful all of you are. It's nice to see everyone pulling together and not fighting over trivial matters.

There is an eerie silence here in the Southern Tier of NY.Nothing overhead.We are only 3 miles from a busy airport that services any and all with flights to NY Boston.Pittsburgh and other centers and as of this hour there's nothing in the air.How is it where you are?Wierd is all I can say.:confused: :confused:

Folks,

I'm here across from the Hancock tower - something is up in Copley Square. Police & FBI all over the place. I'm not sure what to do now...

Looks like it's at the Westin Hotel. Not sure at this time what is up there. Possibly found someone invovled? There are news cameras, police, FBI, all over the place here. Tons of sirens.

CNN is reporting they took some people into custody there and also in Florida. Check the CNN website.

They are saying to have a lead at the Westin Hotel, Just sit tight. They wont put anyone in danger.

It's on the news now, a suspect has been arrested at the Westin-Copley Hotel in Boston.

Looks like a madhouse down there, as there are hundreds of onlookers as well as FBI, police, etc..

I went outside late last night (had to get away from the tv. . . )

Usually you can see two or more planes in the sky. Last night- nothing. It was odd and rather frightening. There wasn't as much traffic as usual and the neighborhood seemed unusually quiet.

We heard a plane earlier in the evening and ran outside to have a look. It was like we'd never heard a plane before.

On a positive note- I stopped by the Red Cross today to donate. They are overwhelmed (at least in Ann Arbor) and are not accepting walk-ins. Call 1-800-Give-Lif for an appointment.

They just brought a bomb squad truck to the Westin, who knows what is going on. It doesn't sound like anybody has come out in handcuffs.

I know someone who works in the Westin building(s). She said that they told no one to leave and to stay away from windows.

It has been reported that bomb-sniffing dogs have found a hit. The Weston is being evaculated.

One arrest has been made.

This is craziness......

There is an ambulance as well on the scene, not sure if it is related, but wouldn't be surprised if it was...

I heard only certain floors were being evacuated...
