For those who pointed out the similarity to Debt of Honor, I can only hope the ending of Executive Orders occurs as well.

i always new the peace agreements and the process as a hole was a waste of time in the middle east, good will intended by the U.S. and other nations aside. how do you deal with such disturbed people who will walk into a building with tnt taped around them, just to kill some innocent people? you can't reason or make peace with these nut-jobs! the U.S. is always going to be the bad guy in their minds......we could send them Christmas cookies and they'd still hate us. so to say talking with these groups is a waste would be an understatement. actions will speak louder than words!

There have been numerous F-15s flying over head today in Watertown, MA. I'm asssuming they are looping back around covering the air space over Boston.
Everyone is shaken up. Everytime a jet goes overhead, you see people in my neighborhood going out on to their porches, looking around almost frantically.
This whole thing makes me sick.:(

Dude Love ... it is kind of $hitty to make fun of drafts... especially in this circumstance... you can makes those jokes quite easily because someone else years ago was drafted and fought for yours/mine freedom... please, not even in jest, do not take serving your country lightly.

1. Today is the anniversary of Isreal and Egypt signing the peace accord, that may be why the attack occured today.
2. If these *****holes want to die, I say we help them in that goal.

Reports from Omaha are now that Bush is departing Offutt AFB. Boy, that was a quick stop.

now people can get a glimpse of what Israeli's have to deal with on a daily basis. granted it is not on such a large scale, but nontheless it is constant terrorism. the reason Israel has not beat down palestinian's worse, is the fact the U.S. gov has restrained them. somehow i see that coming to a screeching halt. Israel has just as much right to defend their people from terror attacks as we do here in the U.S.

I listened to some retired military colonel(wish I could remember his name) saying the exact same thing this morning. Screw the Space defense and fund the FBI so they can track these bast@rds and nip them in the bud. He had been warning the US for 10 years that this would happen. He also talked about the warning Bin Laden posted 3 days ago in an EMail. Bin Laden knows the US isn't prepared for what he brings to the table. W has to be tough on this, lets hope he is

Conflicting updates on the Pittsburgh plane... latest has it that they were NOT shot down. It's possible that the plane crashed during a struggle for control, but there do seem to be eyewitness accounts that indicate that it did crash on its own.

Much as my gut wants to bomb the hell out of something now goddamit! I realize that it would be counterproductive to do that. Give the intelligence community a chance to wipe the egg off their face* and determine who actually is responsible. Then, give me call and I'll bring every ***** gun in the cabinet to help out. What has been said before it true: War is war, and it's not pretty. Most of our generation (what seems to be the majority on this board, no offense to any veterans) has only seen 'conflicts'---we look to negotiation and small scale attacks. Somehow, I don't think that's going to do the job in this situation. Unless a very strong response is mounted, we're just asking for this to happen again. And, sad as it is to say, simply punishing or even executing the remaining participants in this will not be enough of a deterent to other groups. Or economic sanctions. Or political repercussions. I think we need to go all out and kick some ***, as messy as it may be.
*Knowing something did go wrong, but desparately clinging to the hope that they know more than they're willing to let on to the media.

Update from Omaha:
Apparently Bush has NOT left Offutt. He is in the underground bunker at Stratcom, apparently, according to ABC news, doing a teleconference with his national security officials.
Omaha - ground zero.

Exactly. And one of the points being made in the media as to how extensive this conspiracy is uses that point. Given that most pilots would do that if able, the terrorists must have arranged to have people capable of piloting US planes involved in the actual hijackings. Scarier by the minute, and who says it's over yet?

Amen to that, Dave. :(:(
As has been said a few times earlier here, now I guess we know how our grandparents felt when they heard about Pearl Harbor.
Only difference being that this one is real up close and personal.
My prayers are with all of you who need them.
And Ritt - get the F outta Manhattan. Praying for you too, bud.

Their is no doubt that victory in this situation will not be attained. We can only hope to be safer in the future. Our freedom has been infringed upon and that sucks. We will never be the same!.
