Air Force One just landed at Offutt Air Force Base in the Omaha area. Offutt is StratCom's HQ, and is in charge of our nations ICBM's and strategic submarines. It was accompanied by a fighter escort.

Local television has pictures of an airplane appearing to be Air Force One landing at Offutt AFB (Stratcom HQ), Bellevue NE.

I tried to donate blood today, but was told that there was a 4-5 hour wait, and that we would be better off coming back later. One of the people I was walking with had a father who worked on the 82nd floor. She was a little bit frantic. She finally managed to use her cell phone to get through to home. Her father was alright (thank goodness), and she calmed down a lot.

We could have said the same thing in 1941. It takes courage to wage war and people will die. But as was once noted, "It's better to die on your feet, than live on your knees." If our enemies want to die, more power to them ... by the thousands.

This is a new era of warfare, that has been warned about for years. Rather than p!ssing around with space weapons and other neat toys, we as a nation have to really reconsider what we need to do to protect ourselves without turning into la ocked down nation. We have difficult decisions to make in the coming days folks, on a number of fronts.

My wife just called me - she said it was quite a sight, when she was in the backyard and saw Air Force 1 being escorted to Offutt AFB by, (her account), 3 fighter jets.
