this is a great game! I hate it when the championship game is a blow out.

refs are spreading it around a little better in the 2nd period. it was no where near as biased. still interference by minne on a couple of give and goes by maine.

announcer bias: minnesota keeps the puck in by planting himself against the boards and blocking the puck in. then the announcer says, while watching the slo-mo replay " Wow! Look at that effort!" he stood in front of the puck, by the boards on a clear. every defenseman does that, or breaks their neck trying to do it.

Don Lucia 0-5-2 vs. Maine
0-1 with minnesota. neat stats. did not know that.

ice looks slow. every ice attempt left to right, really slows down.

This is typical ESPN fare for between periods or intermissions of all their telecasts.

still think maine's pp looks better.

maine's transition game and attack is totally turned around from the first period.

minne's passes look more errant at times. other times, they are dead on and looking like they have eyes in the back of their heads.

i thought it was a very even 2nd period. opinions?

I like how they ran an NC$$ spot singing the virtues of college football during the first period. It's a good thing, too, because that is a sport that desperately needs some publicity! I only hope they'll give hoops a plug, too...

I thought it was an even period, noticed some spots that Maine really worked hard and skated very well.

Taffe for MN is a mad man out there. He is really working hard and grinding it out. Minnesota is usually not that physical of a team, but they have stepped it up in this tourney.

Maine was totally outplayed in period 1 and outplayed to a lesser extent in period 2 and only trail by 1 goal. Thats a good sign for Maine. If they improve as much from period 2 to 3 as they did from 1-2 we may be looking at OT.

This telecast is so bad compared to Saturday's games.......ESPN is more concerned about getting us those all important April MLB scores, and NBA crap during the intermissions.......another step back for college hockey coverage.

Gary Thorne use to be the voice of Maine hockey. ESPN wants to know why there ain't more viewers?
Try someone that knows the game!

These guys suck!;)

crowd does not seem to be factor, other than how the game sounds to a fan watching.

BABOOOM!!! GOAL BY MAINE!!!

2-2 GREAT GAME. either team deserves it so far.

Maine needs to be careful that they don't give up a quick one here.

To be fair, it was tipped by a Minnesota defenseman...

It still counts, though :)

Why the ref wait that long to blow the whistle on the frozen puck? By the time he did the guy had already been speared in the junk among everywhere else.

Not so sure about that, after Schuttes first goal he made the "ssshhhhhhhh" gesture to the crowd and also Maines coach even talked about the importance of blocking the crowd out.
