I would have liked to see Providence given a shot, but hey, that's just because I'm from there. LP is the rightful home of this tournament.

Good news. Lake Placid is a great location. There's the bobsled run, the ski jump and the ski slopes when you're not watching a hockey game, and the ambience of two past Olympics is a further attraction.

Albany is more accessible, and has better bargain hotels. However, LP is a heck of a lot better than Atlantic City.

Went to last year's Division III final @ LP and was impressed with how ORDA ran the thing. Will also be going in 2013 and the 2014 combined D-I/III National Championships in Philly.

Haven't been on this forum in quite a few months and what a pleasant surprise to come back to. Lake Placid was/is and forever will be the best choice to be the host of the ECAC Championships.

As an outsider, I'm just looking at the finalists. Seems to me most fans of the ECAC would prefer Lake Placid or Albany over Providence/Atlantic City. Is that fair to say? If so, which do you prefer? LP or Albany?

You can pretty much get the answer you want from this thread below, most thought that Albany makes the most sense geographically, but Lake Placid had more in the way of amenities and atmosphere.
It seemed that most would also rather go to Providence rather than back to Albany, a more vibrant downtown scene there.

If you've ever been to Lake Placid, you don't need to read these things. Has everything but proximity. Amen !

I've said it before and I'll keep saying it: In Lake Placid, the ECAC tourney is truly an event. Great to see the league recognize the need to stop the bleeding.

Lake Placid, went every year I could. Live 10 miles from Albany (TUC) It just never felt right there.
Too many hookers in AC......big distraction

This is the #5 listing if you Google "Lake Placid hookers."

I'd say that pretty much says it all.
